11:11 p.m. A man received a summons in the 24000 block of County Road N on suspicion of speeding 80 mph in a 65 mph zone and for driving without valid proof of insurance.

Tuesday, Dec. 27

10:41 a.m. A woman was arrested at the Montezuma County Detention Center on a warrant for failure to comply on a driving under restraint case.

1:31 p.m. A woman reported that a Taurus M-85 pistol valued at $344 had been stolen from her vehicle sometime during a weeklong trip she and her husband took through Texas and Louisiana.

8:17 p.m. A woman was arrested during a traffic stop in the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 160 on a warrant.

Wednesday, Dec. 28

6:28 a.m.: A man was served a warrant at the Montezuma County jail, 730 E. Driscoll St.

12:38 p.m.: A male driver slid on a snowpacked road into a gate at a residence at U.S. Highway 160 and County Road 46.

1:53 p.m.: A man was served a warrant at the Montezuma County jail, 730 E. Driscoll St.

2:10 p.m.: A deputy contacted a woman who reportedly was sleeping in a car parked at Pro Build, 12028 Colorado Highway 145, and seized the license plates because they were registered to a different vehicle. The owner of the plates was asked to pick them up at the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office.

6:26 p.m.: A deputy contacted a hitchhiker in the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 160, asked if he wanted a ride to the Ute Mountain Casino, then arrested him on an active warrant.

8:17 p.m.: A man was pulled over for driving with an unlit headlamp in the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 160, and his passenger was arrested on an active warrant.

Thursday, Dec. 29

12:57 a.m.: A deputy looking for suspects in an assault questioned two men sitting in an SUV at the Escalante Trailer Park, 18380 Colorado 145 in Dolores, after noticing two men running from the SUV. The SUV driver was arrested on two active warrants. Deputies then were allowed into a nearby residence, where they arrested one of the men who had run from the SUV on an active warrant, and another man on two active warrants. A judge declined to grant a search warrant.

5:23 p.m. A man was arrested at the Montezuma County jail on a warrant.

10:30 p.m. A man was arrested in the 100 block of North Ninth Street in Dolores on suspicion of second-degree assault and domestic violence after his boyfriend claimed the man had beaten him with a fire poker and other household objects.

Saturday, Dec. 31

10:34 a.m. A man was arrested at the Montezuma County jail on two warrants, one related to a protection order violation.

12:26 p.m. A woman was arrested at the Montezuma County jail on a warrant for failure to appear in a driving under restraint case in Chaffee County.

7:25 p.m. A man received a summons in the 3000 block of U.S. Highway 160 on suspicion of driving without insurance.

Tuesday, Jan. 3

8:32 a.m.: A male passenger in a car near mile marker 7 on Colorado Highway 145 was arrested on an active warrant.

1:01 p.m.: Two men reported the theft of tires on wheels valued at $700 and a fuel tank worth $500 at a residence in the 5600 block of U.S. Highway 491.
