Tuesday, Dec. 20

3:42 a.m.: A juvenile boy was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault after he allegedly hit his father at a residence in Dolores.

Thursday, Dec. 22

7:40 a.m.: A man was cited for driving with a canceled license because of an unpaid ticket after he was stopped and warned about allegedly disobeying a stop sign at County Roads L and 29.

3:56 p.m.: A deputy retrieved a can from a hotel room at the Ute Mountain Casino, 3 Weeminuche Drive, that security officials suspected contained drug residue. Hotel officials suspected that four people stayed in the room without paying.

7:51 p.m.: A woman was arrested on two warrants at a residence in the 1000 block of Central Ave. in Dolores.

10:29 p.m.: A Mancos man reported that his juvenile son had been missing since 9 a.m. the previous day. A deputy reported the juvenile as a runaway.

Friday, Dec. 23

9:59 p.m.: A juvenile driver was cited in the 500 block of Railroad Ave. in Dolores for failing to provide proof of insurance, driving without a license and speeding 10-19 mph over the 35 mph limit. The girl was left in the care of her grandmother, who reportedly lived a block away. A second driver, who also was observed to be speeding, was not pulled over.

Saturday, Dec. 24

7:43 p.m.: A deputy responded to a Cortez Police Department dispatch about a driver in a SUV allegedly attempting to run over people in the area of 400 S. Oak St. A Cortez police officer was at the scene. According to the deputy, the police officer approached the SUV on foot from behind, and the SUV quickly accelerated in reverse, forcing the officer to jump out of the way. The driver then drove forward, then backed up again and slid to a stop. The officer then was able to talk the woman into to exiting the SUV. The deputy left the scene as other police officers were at the scene.

Sunday, Dec. 25

5:05 a.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and third-degree assault at a residence in the 600 block of Railroad Ave. in Dolores after he and his boyfriend had an ongoing confrontation about their living and rental arrangement. The man reportedly was arrested after he fled the home in pajama pants and slippers and was tracked through fresh snow.
