Wednesday, April 25

8:41 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for third-degree assault following a report on April 22, when his wife claimed he had threatened her and pushed her down twice, causing scrapes on her hands, arms and legs. The man reportedly refused to cooperate with deputies when they contacted him by phone after the incident.

7:33 p.m.: Deputies responded to a suicide threat in the 27000 block of Colorado Highway 184. A man had reportedly made suicidal statements to a female acquaintance before leaving a residence on his bike. Deputies found the man by “pinging” his phone and following a trail of footprints in a vacant field. The man was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital for a mental health evaluation. Deputies also gave the woman who reported the threat a ride home, since she had been drinking alcohol and couldn’t drive.

Thursday, April 26

12:14 p.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to comply.

1:10 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 200 block of Fourth Street, Dolores, on an El Paso County warrant for failure to appear after the vehicle she was riding in was pulled over for driving without visible registration.

8:50 p.m.: Deputies assisted Colorado State Patrol troopers in killing a deer that had caused a traffic accident in the 11000 block of U.S. Highway 491.

10:07 p.m.: Deputies assisted the Mancos Marshal’s Office in responding to a report of a fight in the 200 block of West Second Street, Mancos. They located a woman who had reportedly made two pit bull dogs attack another person. The dogs were transported to the Cortez Animal Shelter, and the woman was transported to a hospital due to injuries she also received from the dogs.

Friday, April 27

10:57 a.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a brush fire in the 14000 block of County Road 33. The Dolores Fire Department put out the fire, which burned about 800 square feet of brush and appeared to have been caused by a lit cigarette from a passing vehicle.

11:33 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 700 block of Stratton Drive, Cortez, on a warrant for failure to appear.

Saturday, April 28

10:14 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on two warrants for failure to appear.

Sunday, April 29

11:21 a.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a fire in the 12000 block of County Road 33. The Mancos Fire Department put out the fire, and the property owner reportedly said other people had already put out most of it by stomping on the flames. Firefighters and deputies were unable to determine what caused the fire.

8:05 p.m.: Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash in the 34000 block of County Road S. The male driver reportedly said he had been “showing off” and lost control of the vehicle, which went into a ditch. Colorado State Patrol troopers arrested the driver and took over the investigation.

Monday, April 30

5 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

11:44 a.m.: A man in the 21000 block of County Road reported that after a civil suit involving his property line, the 29 fence posts that he installed in error on his neighbor’s property had not been returned to him. He requested a report to document loss of property.

Tuesday, May 1

6:56 p.m.: A man was cited in the 30000 block of County Road W for owning a vicious dog after his pit bull and two other dogs allegedly wounded a neighbor’s Labrador retriever. The Labrador required surgery, and the neighbor said he fired several warning shots into the ground during the dog fight and ultimately shot the suspect pit bull dead when it had his Labrador by the throat.

7:38 p.m.: A man was remanded at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., and taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

9:09 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence in the 19000 block of County Road W. His wife said he shoved a plate of enchiladas in her face and repeatedly called her names. A deputy observed enchiladas on the floor and cheese in her hair. The man denied his wife’s claims, but she had recorded the incident on her phone.

Wednesday, May 2

10:51 a.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

4:08 p.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

5:49 p.m.: A man was served two warrants at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

6:22 p.m.: A woman was served two warrants at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
