Wednesday, April 11

3:31 p.m.: A man was cited for burning during a red flag warning in the 44000 block of M.3, Mancos.

Tuesday, April 17

1:29 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of theft in the 7000 block of the County Road 26.1 loop. A woman claimed a package of medication had been stolen from her mailbox the previous day. The case was closed due to a lack of evidence or leads.

Wednesday, April 18

11:14 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear.

1:13 p.m.: Deputies responded to a traffic accident at the Cortez Cemetery, 27441 U.S. Highway 160. A semitrailer’s exhaust pipe had hit a sign at the cemetery, breaking it.

4:33 p.m.: A man in the 21000 block of County Road P said a dog bit him on the arm while he was working on his farm. The dog’s owner offered to pay the man’s medical bills and put the dog down, and the man declined to press charges.

Thursday, April 19

10:31 a.m.: A man was cited for burning trash during a fire ban in the 28000 block of Colorado Highway 184, Dolores. A man reportedly told them to leave, saying they were trespassing, and the property owner said he didn’t know a fire ban was in effect. The Dolores Fire Department put out the fire, which was in a pit at the residence.

3:01 p.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on a warrant for failure to comply.

10:49 p.m.: A man was served a felony warrant for failure to comply at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Friday, April 2o

11:36 a.m.: A man reportedly involved in a disturbance in the 38000 block of County Road H, Mancos, was located in a parked Jeep near County Roads G and 38. A small bag, similar to the type often used for drugs, was reportedly on his lap. Deputies searched the man’s vehicle and found two small plastic bags, one containing residue that looked similar to heroin. The man denied consuming any heroin. After Mancos Fire Department volunteers checked his vitals, the man was issued a trespass notice from the house where the original disturbance was reported, and released.
