I just wanted to thank the Cortez City Council for taking a stance on the Canyons of the Ancients by sending a letter to Secretary Zinke.

Monuments such as Canyons of the Ancients support small communities such as ours, and if larger entities such as the city councils stay silent they not only do a disservice to their constituents but also to themselves.

I appreciate your assertion on this topic and hope that you continue to fight for other public lands in our area.
