Our home and neighborhood were hit hard during the storm on July 21. We were fortunate to have no home damage or uprooted trees, yet so many others did. We did lose a lot of tree branches and limbs. Empire Electric was here immediately, removing tree debris from electric lines as soon as the storm ended.
Colby Earley and his city of Cortez crew were available promptly and consistently with trash dumpsters to haul all that debris away. I was simply amazed and incredibly thankful for the quick response.
Thank you to Empire Electric, the city of Cortez and to Ken Brengle, who helped make all that removal possible.
I would also like to thank the first responders who were there when my niece, Sheila Thompson, was involved in a horrific motorcycle accident near Stoner at about the same time.
We live in a good, kind and caring community that is there to help no matter what.
