If the “Big, Beautiful Bill” being pushed by Project 2025 writers and their puppet, Donald Trump, passes, our region is in deep, deep trouble.
If this bill passes, Southwest Memorial Hospital is in grave danger of closing down – they simply cannot exist with deep cuts to Medicaid (and yes, Medicare is on the chopping block as well).
If this bill passes, our region, full of beautiful public lands, is threatened with unregulated exploitation. Do you realize that with this bill, the land we all love for recreation, pristine rural living, grazing and timber, and tourism will lose the protections from long revered federal regulations?
If this bill passes, unemployment in our region will explode. Have you thought how that will affect the economy in our county for everyone, including you?
If you are an American who is still a supporter of our president at this stage, it is only because you are refusing the truth about the disaster that is here. You must be willing to learn the truth, listen to something besides Fox, OAN, Newsmax or other right-wing news sources. They are lying to you.
Our president is defiling the Constitution and his oath to defend it. The “Law of the Land” is important for all of us – citizens, refugees, immigrants, green card holders, work permit holders, everyone. The laws of the United States are what has made us great and we must defend them.
