An officer responded to Triple Six Storage for a report of vandalism. Upon arrival the officer contacted the reporting party and also the owner of the storage facility.

The owner of the facility told the woman that she needed to remove her camper trailer from the facility and that she was not longer a desired customer. The woman said that her camper was broken into and did not have the key with her to her motorhome. The woman agreed to remove the camper that night and to contact the officer with the new location.

The officer looked inside the camper and found it to be disorganized. The woman said there were missing items but could not identify anything specific. The officer told her to make an itemized list and call him.

As of Oct. 27, the woman had not contacted the officer. The officer requested that the report be marked as unfounded until new information is made available.

Wednesday, Oct. 30

An officer was patrolling on Hwy. 160 when he observed a blue Chrysler 300 traveling at speeds of 75 mph in a posted 65 mph zone.

The officer stopped the vehicle and while speaking with the driver, he could smell an unknown alcohol beverage coming from the vehicle and observed several varieties of unopened alcohol in the backseat. The driver said he had nothing to drink.

The officer asked the driver to shut the vehicle off and place the keys on the dashboard of the vehicle. As the officer returned to his vehicle to ask dispatch for clearances, he heard the vehicle's engine start and the vehicle rapidly accelerated south on Hwy. 160 toward Towaoc.

The officer re-entered his vehicle and advised dispatch that the vehicle was fleeing and advised them to notify BIA to intercept the vehicle.

While pursuing the vehicle, speeds exceeded 100 mph. The officer advised dispatch that he would be terminating the pursuit and shut down all emergency equipment.

Upon arrival at the sheriff's office, the officer was notified that the original owner of the vehicle was at the Towaoc Police Department and was wanting an ATL put out for her vehicle.

The woman said she let her son borrow her vehicle to drive his son home. The woman said the person driving the vehicle did not have her permission to drive it. The vehicle's ATL and possible theft will be handled by the Towaoc Police Department.

Saturday, Nov. 2

An officer was traveling northbound on U.S. Hwy. 160 when he observed the passenger side tires of the vehicle directly in front of his cross the solid white fog line approximately 3 feet two times within one mile.

The officer stopped the vehicle and could smell the strong odor of burnt marijuana. The officer asked the driver if he had smoked marijuana toda,y and he said yes earlier he pulled over at a gas station and smoked a bowl there. The officer asked the man if he would be willing to perform voluntary roadside maneuvers, and the man refused the maneuvers and also any chemical testing. The officer asked the man if the pipe he used to smoke with earlier was still in the vehicle, and he told him it was under the front passenger seat. He retrieved the pipe for evidence.

The man was arrested and charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol or both.
