The pregnancy and nutrition class will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30, in the Childbirth Center Classroom on the fifth floor of San Juan Regional Medical Center. The two-hour class covers the essential nutrients needed for a healthy pregnancy, good nutrient sources, calorie needs by trimester and recipes.

The pregnant teen spring boot camp runs from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 13 to 17. The course is designed to address the unique challenges faced by pregnant mothers, ages 13 to 19, in a concentrated format. Topics include what to expect during each trimester, self-care and nutrition needs, what happens during the childbirth, delivery and the postpartum period, breastfeeding and infant care. The course is taught by Childbirth Educator Kathy Coleman.

Teens are welcome to bring a partner, parent or friend as a support person. Class size is limited to five teenagers and their partners.
