Wednesday, May 20

3:21 a.m. A driver was cited on suspicion of operating an uninsured vehicle, driving with a suspended license, careless driving and displaying fictitious plates after hitting a vehicle in the 600 block of East Second Street. He said he was coughing and jerked the steering wheel to the left, hitting a parked car.

7:55 a.m. A vehicle was broken into in the 1700 block of Center Street. A bag of tools were taken, but there was no damage to the truck.

Thursday, May 21

3:07 p.m. A bike was stolen from Kokopelli Bike and Board, 130 W. Main St. The bike was being stored in an alley, but there was no surveillance footage of the theft.

10:29 p.m. A man refused to leave Speedway, 2320 E. Main St. He would not comply with the officer’s instructions and was struck. He fell to the ground and cut his head. The man had trespassed or caused disturbances at seven different locations that day. He was removed from the property.

Friday, May 22

2:13 p.m. A woman was cited on suspicion of criminal mischief at Cozy Inn, 440 S. Broadway. She was involved in an altercation with another woman, then broke a window and fled the scene.

6:04 p.m. A woman reported fraudulent charges made on her eBay account, ranging from about $400 to $900 dollars. The goods were to be sent to an address in Austin, Texas. The local authorities were notified.

8:16 p.m. An officer responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of South Madison Street. A woman was arrested on suspicion of violating a protective order and violation of bond conditions by consuming alcohol and controlled substances.

Saturday, May 23

11:57 p.m. A man was cited for trespassing in an abandoned shed in the 110 block of East Main Street. He and several other homeless individuals were asked to leave the property.

Sunday, May 24

9:52 a.m. An officer responded to Liquid Assets, 718 E. Main St., for a shoplifting complaint. The suspect allegedly put a bottle of vodka in his shorts and walked out. Surveillance of the theft was unavailable and the suspect could not be located.

2:53 p.m. A woman reported a cold vehicle break-in in the 600 block of Alameda Drive. Three vehicles were broken into between 7 p.m. and midnight on May 23. Three fishing licenses, three social security cards and a subwoofer were taken. There were no suspects.

9 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI in the 800 block of West Seventh Street. He was also cited on suspicion of driving with a revoked license, reckless driving, driving the wrong way on a highway and having an open container after nearly causing a head-on collision with a patrol car.

Monday, May 25

11:12 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting and robbing another man in the City Market parking lot, 508 E. Main St. Surveillance footage recorded the assault. The victim named another man involved in the assault, but there was insufficient evidence for an arrest.

2:01 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of second degree burglary and theft at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. He admitted to taking several items worth about $25 and to entering the store despite having been trespassed since 2015.

Tuesday, May 26

6:47 a.m. A woman reported damage to a vehicle at Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St. Video surveillance did not show anyone damaging the car. The damage may have occurred May 25 in the area of Third Street and Madison Street while the driver was picking someone up from that location. There were no suspects.

10:26 a.m. A license plate was stolen from a vehicle left for service at Keesee Motors, 111 S. Broadway, on May 11. The theft was noticed on May 23. There were no suspects.

3:11 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault in Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St. Witnesses stated he kicked a sleeping woman in the face multiple times and then left the park. Officers contacted the man in the 100 block of North Fillmore Street, but denied any involvement in the assault.

7:09 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of unsafe backing after hitting another car in the 800 block of South Broadway. A psychical altercation occurred between occupants of both vehicles, and they were given verbal warnings for disorderly conduct. None of the parties wished to press charges.
