Sunday, Feb. 4

10:58 a.m.: A woman was arrested in the 10 block of West Montezuma Avenue on suspicion of indecent exposure after police responded to a report she was urinating on the sidewalk. She was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication.

11:31 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 1000 block of South Chestnut Street on suspicion of domestic violence and property damage after her ex-boyfriend reported she had hit him in the face and thrown rocks at his vehicle, causing an estimated $300 in damage to a window.

Monday, Feb. 5

6:41 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 800 block of Balsam Street on a warrant for aggravated assault.

Tuesday, Feb. 6

2:10 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 100 block of North Dolores Road on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge after a vehicle in which he was riding was pulled over for reportedly driving without license plate lights. The female driver was issued a summons on suspicion of operating an uninsured vehicle and driving under restraint.

11:23 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 800 block of East Montezuma Avenue on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication.

1:32 p.m.: Police responded to a report of a stolen bicycle outside Burger King, 520 W. Main St. A restaurant employee reported his bike, valued at $150, had gone missing between 12 and 12:30 p.m. The case remains under investigation.

1:55 p.m.: A man was arrested outside McDonald’s, 1322 E. Main St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

2:10 p.m.: A man turned himself in at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

5:18 p.m.: A woman was remanded into custody from Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

11:41 p.m.: A man was arrested at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., on two warrants for failure to appear on local misdemeanor charges. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication. The man reportedly told police he had drunk a gallon of vodka during the day.

Wednesday, Feb. 7

11:55 a.m.: Police responded to a report of theft in the 900 block of Lau Lane. A man claimed a collapsible ladder, valued at $140, had gone missing from a residence under construction sometime between 10 a.m. on Feb. 6 and 11 a.m. on Feb. 7. Another man, who was also doing construction on the building, said his table saw and fiberglass ladder, valued at $800 total, had gone missing sometime after 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 6. The case remains under investigation.

1:34 p.m.: Police responded to a report of theft at Safeway, 1580 E. Main St. A woman reported her purse had gone missing while she was shopping at the store. The purse was valued at $200 and reportedly contained a driver’s license, an unemployment card, a food stamps card, a debit card and $100 in cash. The case remains under investigation.

3 p.m.: A man was arrested at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a local felony charge.

3:50 p.m.: Police responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 500 block of East Third Street. A stick figure and a squiggly line had been spray-painted across about 50 feet of a residential fence. The fence’s owner estimated the damage at about $1,000. The case remains under investigation.

7:02 p.m.: A man turned himself in at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

11:08 p.m.: A man was arrested at City Market, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of trespassing and violating bond conditions. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital before being taken to jail, due to severe intoxication.

Thursday, Feb. 8

2:38 a.m.: A man was arrested at Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

6:22 a.m.: A man was arrested at the Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic offense charge.

9:12 a.m.: A woman was issued a summons in the 200 block of North Beech Street on suspicion of violating a protection order after her ex-boyfriend reported she had sent him harassing text messages.

9:33 a.m.: A woman was arrested in the 600 block of East Empire Street on two warrants for failure to appear on local felony charges.

10:18 a.m.: A man was arrested outside City Market, 508 E. Main St., on two warrants for failure to appear on local misdemeanor charges.

6:36 p.m.: Two men were arrested in the 700 block of South Broadway. One man was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a local felony charge. Inside the vehicle where he was sitting when arrested, a glass pipe with white residue was reportedly visible on the floor. The owner of the car reportedly gave responding officers permission to search the car, and they found a bag of meth on the floor near the pipe. The man in the car was arrested on the warrant and on suspicion of possessing Schedule II narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Another man who was in the area was arrested on suspicion of possessing cocaine and violating parole. A package of cocaine measuring 4.2 grams was reportedly found in his possession.

6:41 p.m.: Police responded to a report of a stolen bicycle at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St. The case remains under investigation.

11:42 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 100 block of East Main Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge after police contacted him because he was waving his arms and walking in the middle of the street. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication.
