Wednesday, Jan. 18

6:44 a.m.: A man reported a theft in the 400 block of Sligo Street. He claimed $500 in cash had been stolen from his vehicle, which was not locked. The case remains under investigation.

11 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failing to appear in court for a local misdemeanor.

1:15 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 40 block of Market Street on suspicion of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. A witness said the man had broken a window in a trailer parked behind Pet Pad, 24 N. Madison St., and threatened to stab its occupant.

1:59 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 1700 block of North Dolores Road on a warrant for failing to appear in court for an out-of-county felony, after a possible disturbance was reported at his residence.

4:54 p.m.: A man and a woman reported an incident of criminal mischief at Mesa Elementary School, 703 W. Seventh St. The rear window of their truck was broken, and a padlock that didn’t belong to them was found in the truck bed. The man estimated the damage at about $800. The case remains under investigation.

Thursday, Jan. 19

8:23 p.m.: A man was arrested at City Market, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of intoxication in a roadway. He had allegedly crossed Main Street against a red light, forcing several vehicles to stop abruptly to avoid hitting him.

9:19 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 600 block of Wyoming Street on a warrant for failing to appear in court for a local misdemeanor, after a disturbance was reported at his residence. Police found no evidence of disturbance.

Friday, Jan. 20

2:35 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 500 block of South Madison Street on six active warrants for larceny, failure to appear, contempt of court and failure to comply.

7:29 p.m.: A man was arrested at the Bridge Emergency Shelter, 601 N. Mildred Road, on suspicion of obstruction and resisting arrest. While police gave him a ride to the shelter because of his severe intoxication, he allegedly attempted to hit the officers, and they tackled him. He continued to act aggressively while being transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital and the jail.

Saturday, Jan. 21

12:04 a.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 100 block of East First Street on suspicion of driving under the influence and failure to obey a stop sign.

2:10 p.m.: A man was issued a summons at City Market, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of shoplifting. A bottle of vanilla extract, valued at $13.99, was returned to the store. The man said he had planned to drink the extract, which has a high alcohol content.

5:08 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons at City Market, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of shoplifting. She allegedly left the store with various items, valued at $20.96.

8:54 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 300 block of West Fifth Street on suspicion of disturbing the peace. When approached by police, he was outside his residence yelling and hitting the sidewalk with a shovel, after he allegedly got into a verbal argument with a juvenile inside the house.

9:15 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 400 block of West Seventh Street on suspicion of violating bond conditions.

Sunday, Jan. 22

1:09 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 20 block of West Third Street on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Monday, Jan. 23

9:26 a.m.: A man was arrested at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on a warrant for failing to appear in court for the illegal sale of marijuana.

1:42 p.m.: A woman was arrested at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., after turning herself in on a warrant for failing to appear in court for a local misdemeanor.

Tuesday, Jan. 24

3:11 p.m.: A man was arrested near the intersection of West Third Street and South Maple Street on suspicion of walking in a roadway while intoxicated. A woman who works for Cortez Cab said he and another man had tried to break into her vehicle.

10:36 p.m.: A man was arrested at Wal-Mart, 1835 E. Main St., on a warrant for failing to appear in court for a local misdemeanor.

Wednesday, Jan. 25

12:26 a.m.: A man was arrested at Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failing to appear in court for a local misdemeanor.
