‘It’s about Uncle Micky’

My mother’s youngest brother was killed in action in WWII at age 28.

Uncle Micky fought against authoritarianism, fascism, nazism and the threatening world scourge of the day.

He, his brother and my father were part of the “Greatest American Generation” and the U.S. Army.

How is it that the bravery and sacrifice of a nation in times of peril would be defecated upon by today’s “patriots?”

Seeing the images of the U.S. Capitol riot, I had to ask, how could that have happened?

I mean, a couple thousand people with flagpoles fashioned into spears, wasp spray, bear spray, firearms, bombs, plastic handcuffs to restrain people in my Capitol?

I’m a proud liberal who’s aware the AR-15 is the flagship killing machine of misfits and ask why those misfits were not mowed down with AR-15s?

It’s about Uncle Micky.

He didn’t lose his life in the ‘40s for those who want to destroy this nation in the 21st century, led by a guy who’d make Benito Mussolini jealous.

The “tourists” who got a little out of hand should have been met with AR-15s in the capable hands of the good Capitol cops.

The coward who knew his Kool-Aid guzzlers had AR-15s but stoked them into a dangerous frenzy needs to pay.

“They’re not after me,” he said.

No, I’m after you, for all who died for freedom.

Pardon Donald J. Trump?

Hell no. It’s about my uncle, Howard “Micky” Clarke.
