Southwest Health System is accepting applications for its summer internship program for high school students ages 14-18.

The program, under the direction of registered nurse Meghan Higman, gives students the chance to learn about Southwest Health System, help create a community service event and learn about health care careers.

The program runs June 6 through Aug. 2.

Applicants are required to write a short essay about why they want to participate in the internship and to include a letter of their recommendation along with their application. Applications are available at www.swhealth.org and should be mailed or emailed by April 30 to Higman at 1311 N. Mildred Road, Cortez, CO 81321 or Mhigman@swhealth.org.
