Southwest Health System is preparing for its annual 5K Run/Walk on Saturday in anticipation of National Hospital Week. This year’s National Hospital Week will be held from May 10-May 16, celebrating hospital staff, hospitals and all health care workers who provide care to those in their communities, according to the American Hospital Association.
The Run/Walk will start at 9 a.m., with check-in opening at 8:30 a.m. The event will begin and finish at Southwest Health System. The event is open to all ages and abilities, and all who participate are invited to walk and run at their own pace. Friendly dogs on leashes are also welcome.
Check-in can be found in the grass area between Southwest Memorial Hospital and Southwest Medical Group Walk-In Care. Parking will be available in the Southwest Memorial Hospital parking lot.
SHS also encouraged attendees to bring nonperishable food items for donation to Renew in Cortez.
No pre-registration is required, though organizers ask participants to complete a short online form prior to the event to help estimate attendance.
The form can be found online at bit.ly/SHSrunwalk.
