The Four Corners Child Advocacy Center is rallying the community to raise awareness about child abuse during April, which is designated as Child Abuse Awareness Month.

The center, located at 118 N. Chestnut St., will host its annual “Walk in the Park” event on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year’s theme is “Let Hope Bloom.”

The event will also honor Rose Jergens “for all her heart and soul she put into protecting the children in our community.”

Confirmed speakers include Executive Director Lacey Osterloh and sheriff candidate Tyson Cox. Other potential speakers are still being confirmed.

Children will participate in art projects, creating handprints and flower designs along the park sidewalks, as well as making pinwheels that will be displayed throughout the park on the day of the event. Food will be available at the event.

More details will be released closer to the event date.
