Marc Loops said he wants to give back to first responders and law enforcement.

First responders can get free coffee at Loops Coffee House & Bistro, 318 E. Main St., on the 15th of each month.

Loops Coffee House & Bistro, named Business of the Year by the Dolores Chamber of Commerce in 2023 and Best of Cortez in 2024, is owned by Loops. Loops said first responders, EMTs, firefighters, law enforcement and their administrators can get free coffee all day on the 15th of each month.

Loops told The Journal that he began this monthly tradition to show his appreciation to law enforcement and first responders, who have “helped me multiple times,” including times where there were issues at the cafe.

Loops Coffee House & Bistro was originally in Dolores before moving to Cortez two years ago. It now occupies the former Spruce Tree Coffeehouse building.

The coffee house offers an extensive menu, including coffee, lattes, tea and other drinks such as hot chocolate, lemonade, Italian soda and smoothies. Food options include burritos, bagels, sandwiches, wraps, salads, breakfast items and baked goods.

Winter hours start Monday: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. to noon Sunday.
