The Mancos Public Library will host its second annual Holiday Toy Swap on Thursday, Nov. 13, and Friday, Nov. 14, offering parents and guardians a chance to exchange gently used toys for Christmas gifts at no cost. Participants may wrap gifts before leaving the library.
Each participant may bring one box of toys and choose gifts in return. All donated items must be clean, fully functional, contain all parts, and be in excellent condition.
The swap aims to ease financial pressures during the holiday season and is part of other free library programs, such as the Christmas Craft Shop, which helps families avoid spending on expensive, short-lived gifts.
“It is my hope that they also honor the spirit of the season: the joy of giving something fun to someone you love, the importance of being able to provide your family with a special day of abundance and memory-making,” Youth Services Manager and Children’s Librarian Erin Bohm told The Journal.
The Holiday Toy Swap will take place in the library’s small meeting room on Thursday, Nov. 13, from 3 to 7 p.m., and Friday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Only adults are permitted to participate. Donations of wrapping supplies are also welcome.
