The Mount Lookout Grange in Mancos will hold its ninth annual Pig Roast fundraiser on Saturday, offering an afternoon of local food and music. The event will feature the Durango-based Blue Moon Ramblers in their first appearance in Mancos.

The pig roast will take place at 680 Grand Ave. from 3 to 6 p.m.

The menu will showcase a pit-roasted pig raised in the Mancos Valley, accompanied by fresh coleslaw, beans, potatoes, rolls and dessert.

This year’s pig was raised by Berto Farm and processed at Road 39 Ranch, according to the grange.

“It’s a process filled with time, care and flavor – all coming together for a meal and fundraiser that celebrates our valley and our community,” Mount Lookout Grange said on Facebook.

Drinks will include local beer from Mancos Brewing Co. and Dolores River Brewery, cider from Fenceline, and wine from Mancos Liquor. Nonalcoholic options will also be available.

Tickets are $30 for entry and a full meal, or $5 for entry to enjoy the music and bar without a meal. Children age 12 and under are admitted free.

The Blue Moon Ramblers are known for their blend of country, bluegrass, swing and folk.

All proceeds will benefit Mount Lookout Grange and its mission “to improve the economic well-being, social connectedness and quality of life for all in our rural community.”
