The walk is to raise awareness for mental health

Southwest Rise will host its fourth annual Suicide Awareness Walk on Saturday, Sept. 13, starting at 9 a.m. at Montezuma Park, 3 W. Montezuma Ave. The event aims to raise awareness and support for mental health while honoring those who have been affected by suicide.

The free community event will feature breakfast and coffee, guest speakers, tote bags stuffed with resources for attendees and music. The walk will conclude with a ribbon ceremony and more activities to remember those lost to suicide and encourage those who have lost loved ones.

“Your story isn’t over yet … you are enough,” the flyer said.

The event has been sponsored by Axis Health System for three years. Four Corners Community Bank is also sponsoring the event this year. More information can be found on the event’s Facebook page, Rise Southwest.
