Medina reaches Graduate Level in program

Cortez Mayor Rachel Medina has been awarded the Achievement Award from the Colorado Municipal League’s MUNIversity program, to recognize her attainment of the Graduate Level, the highest tier of the program, which requires 100 credits.

The Colorado Municipal League, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization representing 271 cities and towns, provides resources and services to support municipal officials in effectively managing their governments. The CML MUNIversity program, established by the CML Executive Board, encourages elected officials to enhance their leadership skills and municipal governance knowledge through educational events. Each training session is assigned a credit value based on its length, and Medina’s completion of numerous courses in the program led to the award.

The city of Cortez also expressed appreciation for her dedication that led to the award.

“Congratulations to Mayor Medina on receiving this prestigious award,” the city said. “We are appreciative of her continued commitment to the city of Cortez.”
