Veterans were honored for Memorial Day during a presentation by Montezuma County commissioners. The county is home to 2,400 veterans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.<br><br>On Memorial Day, May 28, there will be a ceremony at the Cortez Cemetery at 6 a.m. for veterans then a breakfast at the American Legion, 320 N. Harrison. In Dolores, a ceremony takes place at the Dolores Community Center, 400 Riverside Ave. starting about 9:45 a.m.. A cannon will be fired. In Rico, a ceremony is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at the cemetery.
