Officially known as the Ray Candelaria Memorial Parade, the Cortez Veteran’s Day Parade is set for 1 p.m. Monday.

Starting at Chestnut Street and Montezuma Avenue, the parade route along Montezuma Avenue is expected to include some three-dozen entries, including the Cortez High School Marching Band, the Cortez Middle School Marching Band and the Mesa Howlers. The parade ends at the American Legion on Harrison Street.

A World War II Army veteran, Ray Candelaria, led efforts to organize the parade for a number of years until his death in 2005.
