‘Still have card after 60 years’

Nov. 22, 1963, is a day that touched my heart and soul. I will never forget!

I was 12 years old in history class, when we received word that our then President John F. Kennedy had been shot and later died. I took my allowance money, went to the store and bought a sympathy card for Jacqueline Kennedy. I later received an envelope edged in black with a postcard inside, edged in black, thanking me for my card.

I still have the card after 60 years. It is kept in a picture frame to avoid damage.
