Wednesday, Aug. 225:01 p.m.: An inmate at the Montezuma County Detention Center was served a warrant for failure to appear.

9:07 p.m.: A man was cited at a residence in the 23600 block of County Road F.5 for second-degree criminal tampering after reportedly throwing another man’s belongings out the house.

Thursday, Aug. 23

7:23 a.m.: Eight Guinea hens and three peacocks reportedly died in a chicken coop fire in the 20700 block of U.S. Highway 491. Goats inside the coop escaped injury. The Lewis-Arriola Fire Department extinguished the blaze, but the chicken coop was lost. It is believed that a chicken knocked over a heat lamp. No foul play was suspected.

1:50 p.m.: A man at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served two warrants for failure to appear and one for a felony bond revocation.

4:09 p.m.: A woman at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served a warrant for contempt of court.

11:47 p.m.: A man at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served a warrant.

Friday, Aug. 24

10:04 p.m.: A woman was pulled over at County Roads 25 and G because of worn license plates, and the passenger was arrested on a Durango warrant for harassment. The driver was given a warning about the license plate.

Saturday, Aug. 25

6:08 p.m.: A man in the 21400 County Road B said his son, age 49, threatened to beat him up, and requested that he be taken to jail because of his drinking. A deputy found the son “passed out” on the property and arrested him on suspicion of harassment. He reportedly said, “I wasn’t going to beat up my dad, but now I want to.”

7:48 p.m.: A deputy arrived at 11000 County Road 29 in response to a call about a fight, and found a man and woman pushing each other on the road. He separated them and asked why they were fighting, and when the man denied they were fighting, arrested both on suspicion of domestic violence and harassment. After a search, a deputy planned to charge the woman with two charges of possession of a controlled substance and two charges of possession of drug paraphernalia; and the man with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sunday, Aug. 26

5:06 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault and domestic violence near a residence in the 28300 block of County Road K.2.

10:20 p.m.: A man was arrested on a La Plata County warrant in the Totten Lake parking area, in the 1000 block of County Road 29.

11: 56 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant in the 800 block of East Montezuma Avenue.

Monday, Aug. 27

1:30 p.m.: A woman who visited the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office, 730 E. Driscoll St., reported a fraudulent attempt to collect a debt.

12:02 a.m.: A woman at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served a warrant for failure to comply with a DUI charge.

Tuesday, Aug. 28

1:07 p.m.: A woman at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served two warrants.

Wednesday, April 9

8:54 a.m.: A stranded driver in the 6000 block of U.S. Highway 160 was cited for driving with a suspended license and the car was towed to a lot until it was road-worthy.

12:16 p.m.: A male inmate at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served two warrants.

1:10 p.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant at Montezuma County Combined Court, 865 N. Park St.

Thursday, Aug. 30

12:34 a.m.: Deputies responded to a residence in the 25200 block of County Road G after a dispatch call stating “there’s blood everywhere.” The alleged victim, who had blood on his face and clothing, first said he had been dragged by his dog, then said the fight started after his brother said he planned to steal his mom’s car. The victim’s brother was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault, and his baseball bat was taken as evidence.

3:35 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant in the 24300 block of County Road N after allegedly threatening a man on County Road T.

4:42 p.m.: Two neighbors complained about each other after an argument over whether a shed in the 21200 block of County Road P.3 was in compliance with the homeowners association. Both were issued trespass orders.
