Wednesday, Sept. 26

8:36 a.m.: A man was pulled over for speeding in the 8000 block of County Road 27 and arrested on two warrants, for contempt of court and failing to comply.

8:44 p.m.: The sheriff discovered the carcasses of a Mirium turkey and two grouse with only the breasts removed. He notified Colorado Wildlife officer Andy Brown.

11:18 a.m.: A dog reportedly bit a bicyclist in the 14400 block of Country Road 33, and two days later, the father of the dog’s owner, euthanized the dog with an apparent gunshot. The dog bite victim decided not to press charges.

1:30 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 12000 block of County Road 29 after her car hit a utility pole. She initially said a male driver had left the scene, but no evidence of a male driver was found. The woman was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital, and the dog in the car was taken to the Cortez Animal Shelter.

Thursday, Sept. 27

4 p.m.: A man reported that he lost a recreational vehicle worth $150,000 and photography equipment worth $30,000 in a fire at the RV Park at Ute Mountain Casino, 3 Weeminuche Drive. The Towaoc Fire Department decided that the origin of the fire was not suspicious. The man said he was alerted to the fire by a refrigerator alarm.

5:07 p.m.: A woman was arrested on two warrants after turning herself in at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

5:48 p.m.: A man was pulled over for speeding in the 13000 block of U.S. Highway 491 and cited for driving without a valid driver’s license and failing to provide proof of insurance. He was warned about speeding.

Friday, Sept. 28

10:14 a.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

10:37 a.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

6:08 p.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Saturday, Sept. 29

7:27 p.m.: A woman in the 15600 block of County Road CC in Pleasant View was cited because her dog had been barking for several days.

Sunday, Sept. 30

12:57 a.m.: A man and woman were cited with theft under $50 after failing to pay for a meal at the Ute Mountain Casino, 3 Weeminuche Drive in Towaoc. The couple said they both had lost $20 gambling. Both were trespassed from the casino.

Monday, Oct. 1

9:04 a.m.: A sign advertising Jim Candelaria for the Montezuma County Board of Commissioners was vandalized in the 27800 block of U.S. Highway 160.

Tuesday, Oct. 2

2:24 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

4:54 p.m.: A man at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was remanded to jail.
