10:36 a.m.: A deputy spoke by phone with a woman who lives on Road N, Mancos, regarding possible fraud after she tried to renew vehicle registration online using a site found by searching “Colorado DMV.” She reported her bank later told her three accounts had been merged and depleted to about $20,000. She was asked to provide bank statements.
10:22 a.m.: A deputy responded to a minor traffic accident at the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office, 730 E. Driscoll St., Cortez. A woman backing out of a parking spot struck an unoccupied, parked vehicle. Both vehicles sustained minor taillight damage, but there were no injuries.
6:23 p.m.: A deputy responded to an animal bite report at a residence on Colorado Highway 184, Lewis. A woman said she was bitten on the left buttock by a dog belonging to another woman during a verbal argument.
5:24 p.m.: A deputy responded to a traffic accident in the 24000 block of Colorado Highway 184, Dolores. A man driving a truck towing a boat and trailer struck a bump, causing the trailer to detach, overturn against a fence and separate from the boat. The Colorado State Patrol was notified.
5:16 a.m.: A deputy responded to a REDDI report of a truck traveling southbound in the 37000 block of Colorado Highway 184. The vehicle was located and stopped in the 46000 block of U.S. Highway 160. The man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, driving with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 or more, no proof of insurance and reckless driving.
3:45 p.m.: A deputy responded to found property at Lone Heron Antiques, 200 S. Fourth St., Dolores. The store owner had discovered a purse containing an Idaho driver’s license belonging to a woman. The owner of the purse was later contacted and arrangements were discussed for its return. The purse and contents were placed into evidence for safekeeping.
5:42 p.m.: A deputy responded to a protection-order violation reported through the Montezuma County Detention Center’s inmate communication system at 730 E. Driscoll St., Cortez. A man in custody had made numerous calls to a woman protected by three no-contact orders. He was charged with 41 counts of violation of a protection order.
10:04 a.m.: A deputy responded to a traffic crash at the Montezuma County Fairgrounds, 30100 U.S. Highway 160, Cortez. A man backing a truck struck an unoccupied, parked truck. Both parties exchanged insurance information.
10:14 p.m.: A deputy responded to a domestic-violence report at a residence on East Seventh Street, Cortez, involving an earlier incident near Walmart. A woman reported her husband punched her in the face and pulled her hair. She also described prior assaults and showed photos of bruising. The man denied physical violence. The case was turned over to Cortez Police for further investigation of the Walmart incident.
11:48 p.m.: A deputy initiated a traffic stop in the 17000 block of Colorado Highway 145 after observing a vehicle leave a crash scene at a high rate of speed. The woman driver could not produce a license or proof of insurance, and her license was found to be suspended. She was issued a citation for no proof of insurance and the vehicle was parked until proof could be obtained.
3:35 p.m.: A deputy responded to a road-rage incident at U.S. Highway 491 and Road N, Cortez. A man followed another vehicle into a John Deere parking lot after an earlier encounter involving alleged cutoffs and gestures. The reporting driver said the man threatened him. The man was issued a citation for harassment.
9:21 a.m.: A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., Cortez, for a warrant. A man was arrested on a warrant.
11:48 a.m.: A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., Cortez, for warrant service. A woman was served with a warrant.
8:07 p.m.: A deputy responded to a single-vehicle crash at 18495 Colorado Highway 145, Dolores. The male driver was checked and transported to the hospital by EMS. He was later given a courtesy ride to a motel.
6:35 a.m.: A deputy responded to a property damage report at a residence on Colorado Highway 184, Dolores. A man reported that someone had cut a fence and driven an off-road vehicle onto Montezuma Valley Irrigation property. Estimated damage to the fence was $500; no suspects were identified.
4:13 p.m.: A deputy transported a woman from the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., Cortez, to the Montezuma County Detention Center on a warrant.

2:28 a.m.: A deputy observed an abandoned vehicle partially blocking the southbound lane in the 2000 block of Road 21. The vehicle owner had been previously warned about abandonment and was towed.
8:38 a.m.: A deputy responded to an abandoned vehicle parked against the curb in the 100 block of South Fifth Street at Central Avenue, Dolores, blocking an area needed for an event. The long-term abandoned truck was towed.
2:26 p.m.: A deputy responded to a disturbance at a residence on Railroad Ave., Dolores. A man was allegedly yelling profanities at people in the area. He was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and provided a BRAC of .419. MC2
9:35 p.m.: A deputy responded to a REDDI report near 5827 Road 24, Cortez. A vehicle was located after reports of slow, swerving driving. Open and empty alcohol containers were found in the vehicle. The woman driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
11:10 a.m.: A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., Cortez, for warrant service. A man was arrested on a warrant.
12:26 a.m.: A deputy responded to a report of a bear entering a home on Road 25, Dolores. A man allegedly shot and killed the bear after it broke a window, entered and began searching for food. The Department of Wildlife was notified.
