Saturday, Oct. 29

8:22 a.m.: A man reported the theft of a Husqvarna chain saw and a Makita power drill from his residence in the 31800 block of County Road R in Mancos. The items were found at Cortez Cash Pawn, and a deputy sought an arrest warrant for the former boyfriend of the tool owner’s daughter.

Sunday, Oct. 30

2:20 a.m.: A man reported that he had been assaulted in the 29100 block of County Road H. Deputies found two men on foot and an overturned pickup truck in the middle of Road H. The man who reported that he had been assaulted was treated at Southwest Memorial Hospital. A Colorado State Patrol officer was called to the scene of the overturned truck.

Monday, Oct. 31

10:14 p.m.: A patient at Southwest Memorial Hospital reported that a dog bit her at Colorado Highway 145 and County Road M.

Tuesday, Nov. 1

12 p.m.: One student was suspended by Dolores high School for allegedly consuming a marijuana brownie on a school bus, and another was suspended for giving it to him. No physical evidence was found, and the students’ parents provided no further evidence. The case was closed pending further information.

3:29 p.m.: A deputy found two young girls who had been reported missing and helped them return home after they had become lost while playing in thick brush near the 18300 block of County Road 27 in Dolores.

Wednesday, Nov. 2

8:52 p.m.: A man driving eastbound in the westbound lane of U.S. 160 stopped in the middle of road after an officer activated his emergency lights. He was arrested on suspicion of violating two court orders barring him from drinking alcohol, DUI, expired license plates, driving without a valid Colorado license, failing to drive in a single land and operating an uninsured vehicle.

Thursday, Nov. 3

8 a.m.: A man walking west toward Cortez in the 17000 block of Colorado 145 was arrested on a warrant.

12:30 p.m.: A deputy killed a wounded deer at County Roads P and 21 and left it for the property owner to keep or share.

9:53 a.m.: A deputy sought the arrest of a man after a report that he allegedly harassed a woman at a residence in the 26000 block of U.S. 491. A records search indicated that he had been arrested previously for assaulting and falsely imprisoning her and was barred from contacting her. The woman said she feared he would kill her.

11:05 a.m.: A vehicle caught on fire in the 17000 block of Colorado Highway 145 of Dolores.

Saturday, Nov. 5

4:45 p.m.: A man reported a stolen phone and stereo at his home in the 25500 block of County Road S.7 in Dolores.

Sunday, Nov. 6

6:44 p.m.: A man who had been reported missing from his room at the Dolores Mountain Inn, 701 N. Railroad Ave., on Nov. 4 was located in Shiprock, N.M.

Monday, Nov. 7

10:30 a.m.: A man was served four warrants – for larceny, failure to appear in court, failure to comply with a protection order, shoplifting and resisting arrest – while in custody at the Montezuma County jail, 730 E. Driscoll St.

10:30 a.m.: A man was served a warrant, for failing to appear in court, while in custody at the Montezuma County jail, 730 E. Driscoll St.

7:06 p.m.: A woman was served a warrant, for failing to comply with a court order, at the Montezuma County jail, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Tuesday, Nov. 8

12:30 p.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant at District Court, 109 W. Main St.

2:09 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant at the Montezuma County jail, 730 E. Driscoll St. after being transferred from the Towaoc detention center.

Wednesday, nov. 9

3:35 a.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant at a residence in the 32600 block of U.S. 160 after she called in a report that she had heard something in the trees. Her father reported that she’d been acting odd.
