Saturday, Sept. 27

4:38 p.m.: Deputies arrived at a residence on the 14500 block of Road G in Montezuma County for a reported break-in. Security cameras captured a man stealing an air compressor from a garage. The reporting party believed the suspect was a former employee’s boyfriend. Deputies cleared the property, collected surveillance footage and identified a subject in the video.

Saturday, Oct. 11

3:17 p.m.: Deputies responded to the 26700 block of Road L in Cortez for a report of aggressive dogs attacking pets and harassing livestock. The dogs were located on N. Dolores Road and one was subdued with a Taser after advancing aggressively. The owner was cited for a vicious dog violation.

Sunday, Oct. 12

1:40 p.m.: Deputies arrived at Blue Door Trading Post on the 23900 block of Road G in Cortez for a report of vehicle theft. Several dirt bikes and an ATV were moved from their storage spots, and evidence of attempted theft was found near a cut fence. One vehicle was missing entirely and suspected to match a recovered abandoned ATV. The victim reported seeing two men near the property early that morning and planned to compile surveillance footage.

Thursday, Oct. 16

6:55 p.m.: Deputies responded to the 41700 block of Colorado Highway 184 in Mancos for a report of property damage. A woman reported a man ran over a gate with his truck, but no damage was found. The property owner declined to pursue charges for a separate incident involving a barrel.

Monday, Oct. 20

11:39 a.m.: Deputies assisted Colorado State Patrol with a multi-vehicle crash on the 12000 block of Colorado Highway 145 in Dolores. Deputies redirected traffic while troopers investigated. No further details were provided.

Tuesday, Oct. 21

3:55 p.m.: Deputies responded to a crash at Road H and Road 27 in Cortez. Several people in the vehicle were reportedly intoxicated. A woman was detained for interfering with officers, and the driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and other charges after failing roadside tests.

Wednesday, Oct. 22

12:28 p.m.: Deputies arrived at the Montezuma County Detention Center on the 700 block of E. Driscoll St. in Cortez for a report of assault. A man became combative with deputies and was subdued with a Taser. He was booked on suspicion of second-degree assault.

Friday, Oct. 24

1:04 p.m.: Deputies met with a woman at the Cortez Police Department regarding an alleged assault at a property on the 18500 block of Road J. The woman reported her former landlord shoved her while she was collecting belongings. Attempts to contact the landlord were unsuccessful.

Friday, Oct. 24

1:41 p.m.: Deputies responded to a possible structure fire at the 23900 block of Road G in Cortez. Smoke from burning weeds restricted visibility on U.S. Highway 160. The fire was extinguished and no criminal activity was found.

Saturday, Oct. 25

1:18 p.m.: Deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident at the Montezuma County Landfill on the 26100 block of Road F. Minor damage was reported and both drivers agreed to handle the matter civilly.

Saturday, Oct. 25

5:30 p.m.: Deputies responded to a dog bite on the 12000 block of Road 29 in Dolores. A man was bitten while riding his bike. The dog was quarantined and the owner was cited for a dog not under control.

Sunday, Oct. 26

12:34 p.m.: Deputies responded to a theft report on the 41700 block of Colorado Highway 184 in Cortez. A woman reported vehicle parts stolen from a car used as collateral for a loan. No witnesses or camera footage were available.

Monday, Oct. 27

8:47 p.m.: Deputies assisted Cortez Police with a disturbance at a business on the 700 block of E. Main St. in Cortez. A man became aggressive and was restrained for safety. He was later transported to the hospital.

Tuesday, Oct. 28

1:54 p.m.: Deputies responded to the Montezuma County Combined Courts on the 800 block of N. Park St. in Cortez for a report of threats against an assistant district attorney. A man was arrested on suspicion of retaliation against a prosecutor.

Wednesday, Oct. 29

5:30 a.m.: Deputies observed a black bear had accessed unsecured trash behind a residence on the 100 block of N. 17th St. in Dolores. The property owner was cited for a town ordinance violation.

11:20 a.m.: Deputies arrested a man at the Montezuma County Combined Courts on the 800 block of N. Park St. in Cortez for violating a protection order by communicating with the protected party.

Thursday, Oct. 30

7:32 a.m.: Deputies cited a driver for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk at Central Ave. and 12th St. in Dolores.

9:44 a.m.: Deputies arrested a man at the Montezuma County Detention Center on the 700 block of E. Driscoll St. in Cortez after he turned himself in on a warrant.

1:21 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of property damage at the 6400 block of Road 24.25 in Cortez. A semitrailer damaged sprinkler heads while turning around in a yard. The owner planned to file a complaint with the trucking company.

1:56 p.m.: Deputies responded to a suspicious package report at a residence on the 12300 block of U.S. Highway 491 in Cortez. A man received a package containing unknown pills, which were tested and found to be non-narcotic. The pills were entered into evidence for destruction.

5:16 p.m.: Deputies responded to a crash at a business on the 7000 block of U.S. Highway 160 in Cortez. Two truck drivers disputed damage after a parking incident. Camera footage confirmed minor damage to one vehicle. No citations were issued.

5:47 p.m.: Deputies responded to a rollover crash on the 24000 block of Road 20 in Pleasant View. One man was unconscious and transported to the hospital. Another man was detained for interfering with EMS. Colorado State Patrol took over the investigation.

9 p.m.: Deputies booked a man into the Montezuma County Detention Center on outstanding warrants after he turned himself in.

10:17 p.m.: Deputies booked a woman into the Montezuma County Detention Center on an outstanding warrant after she turned herself in.

Friday, Oct. 31

4:30 a.m.: Deputies responded to a traffic accident on the 18000 block of Road G in Cortez. A man struck a deer while driving to work, disabling his vehicle. The vehicle was towed and no further action was taken.
