Sunday, June 4

1:09 p.m. A man and woman unpacking at their new home noticed items were missing. The couple’s previous home in the 21900 block of Road B. 7 had been accessed by the landlord, cleaning service and red truck with unknown occupants.

Wednesday, June 7

9:20 a.m. A man who allegedly took a pack of batteries from Dollar General in Cortez, 23890 Road G, was cited with theft.

8:18 p.m. A woman in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., allegedly slapped another woman in the face and was cited with assault.

10:11 p.m. A man driving in the 17000 block of U.S. Highway 145 turned his high beams on as an officer approached from the opposite direction. The officer turned around and pulled the man over. The man allegedly said he had been drinking and that he would give the officer money to let him go. The man was arrested on suspicion of bribery, DUI and failing to dim lights for oncoming traffic.

Friday, June 9

11:57 p.m. A man driving in the 12000 block of U.S. Route 491 was unable to stay in his lane. An officer signaled to the man to pull over but the man continued to drive until 16000 block. The man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Friday, June 16

6:24 p.m. A woman seen driving recklessly on U.S. Highway 160 near Cortez was pulled over by an officer on in the 16000 block of Colorado Highway 145. The woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and careless driving.

Tuesday, June 20

3:16 p.m. An officer served a warrant to a man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

4:07 p.m. An officer took custody of man from Bureau of Indian Affairs agents at 158 U.S. Highway 160. The man was arrested on a warrant.

4:15 p.m. A man at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was remanded into custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Wednesday, June 21

4:13 p.m. A man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., tried to pull another man from the chair he was sitting in. The first man then went up to the second level and threw paper dice at a man sitting at a table. The second man got up from the table and walked away. The first man then ran down stairs and took the chair for himself. The second man came back to the table, pulled the first man to the ground and took the chair back. Both men did not want to press charges. Per Sheriff Steven Nowlin’s policy on potentially criminal jail incidents, both men were cited with harassment.

10:32 p.m. A man at Montezuma Mexican Restaurant in Dolores, 1319 Railroad Ave., allegedly was approached by a woman who was restrained from contacting him and made a threat. Because the man had difficulty communicating what happened and the woman denied contacting the man, no charges were assessed. On June 23, the man provided a written statement of the incident, and the case remained open.

Thursday, June 22

11:57 a.m. A vehicle in the 42000 block of U.S. Highway 160 was taken into custody of the Sheriff’s Office on behalf of the Mancos Marshal’s Office.

Friday, June 23

2:39 p.m. An officer served two warrants to a man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Saturday, June 24

7:22 p.m. A man in the 28300 block of Road H was yelling and swearing at his wife. According to the incident report, she blocked him from hitting her in the face, then locked herself in the bathroom. The woman provided footage of him trying to strike her, and he was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and harassment.

Sunday, June 25

8:16 a.m. Four ducks and two turkeys belonging to woman in the 24000 block of Road F. 4 were killed by a dog.

Monday, June 26

9:20 a.m. An officer served a warrant to man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Tuesday, June 27

1:49 p.m. A man in the 23000 block of Road M started a fire in a ditch with a barbecue lighter. The man was cited with burning on a Red Flag day.
