3:29 a.m.: An officer responded to Pinon Project, 210 E. Main St., for a report of an assault. A woman said a man tried to grab her backpack while she was sleeping outside. Officers later located the man at the scene who had previously been banned from the property. He was arrested on suspicion of trespassing.
11:06 a.m.: An officer responded to Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St., for a disturbance. A man leaving the area was arrested on suspicion of the warrant.
12:26 p.m.: An officer responded to White Eagle Inn, 2110 S. Broadway, for a disturbance. A shirtless man was yelling and making threats, including to a woman he approached, allegedly calling her names and threatening to stab her. He was arrested on suspicion of menacing and harassment.
8:04 a.m.: An officer responded to City Market, 508 E. Main St., after observing a man known to have a warrant. The man was arrested on suspicion of the warrant.
9:18 a.m.: An officer responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., to serve a warrant on a man already in custody.
10:12 a.m.: An officer responded to City Market, 508 E. Main St., for an assault. A man allegedly assaulted a disabled man on oxygen who was in a chair, stomping and punching him, causing significant facial injuries. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of robbery with an at-risk adult enhancement, second-degree assault and trespassing.
2:02 p.m.: An officer responded to Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St., after observing a man with a warrant. The man was arrested on suspicion of the warrant.
2:57 p.m.: An officer responded to O’Reilly Auto Parts, 1853 E. Main St., after observing a man with a warrant. The man was arrested on suspicion of the warrant.
3:05 p.m.: An officer responded to the Cortez Police Department lobby for a civil standby request involving a protection order. A woman reported a domestic incident with her boyfriend the previous night and other incidents, including threats and an assault. Officers later arrested the man on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence via warrant.
6:37 p.m.: An officer responded to Pinon Project, 210 E. Main St., for a woman with a warrant out of Arapahoe County. Due to her medical conditions, she was transported for clearance before being arrested on suspicion of the warrant.
6:11 p.m.: An officer responded to an alley on East Montezuma Avenue for an unwanted person. The man, who had a warrant, was arrested on suspicion of the warrant.
9:12 p.m.: An officer responded to a residence on Detroit Avenue for a report of a man who took a vehicle with a child inside. The man was arrested on suspicion of a warrant from an earlier domestic case.
11:17 p.m.: An officer responded to a residence on North Chestnut Street for a disturbance involving burglary and assault. A man allegedly forced entry by tearing a screen, assaulted a resident and injured a dog. He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary, third-degree assault, child abuse, cruelty to animals, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal mischief.
11:34 a.m.: An officer responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., for a man turning himself in on a warrant. He was arrested on suspicion of the warrant.
12:36 p.m.: An officer initiated a traffic stop in the 500 block of South Madison Street for speeding. The driver had a warrant and was arrested on suspicion of the warrant.
2:42 p.m.: An officer responded to Main Street and Mildred Road for littering. A man who allegedly dropped White Claw cans and failed to pick them up was issued a citation for littering.
4:35 p.m.: An officer responded to Henry Street for a disturbance. A man allegedly forced entry into a residence, yelled threats at a woman and a woman in the residence expressed fear, saying he had a history of violence. He was arrested on suspicion of menacing.
5:55 p.m.: An officer responded to Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., for two men refusing to leave and soliciting money. One man, previously banned, was issued a citation for trespassing.
