Tuesday, May 30

5:35 p.m. A woman in the 2400 block of U.S. Highway 160 was standing in traffic and threw a water bottle at a moving vehicle. The woman then tried to fight a man. The woman was arrested on suspicion of harassment, disorderly conduct, obstructing a highway, resisting arrest and obstructing an officer.

Thursday, June 1

10:41 a.m. A man driving North on 11th Street in Dolores turned into the NAPA Auto parking lot, 101 S. 11th St., and hit a wooden column. The business owner did not want to pursue charges.

1:03 p.m. A man trying to park at the Post Office in Dolores, 1000 Railroad Ave., hit a concrete pole and caused major damage to the front of his vehicle.

Saturday, June 3

2:52 a.m. A man driving 66 mph in a 50 mph zone was pulled over in the 12000 block of Colorado Highway 145. The man had an open alcohol container in the passenger seat. The man was arrested.

4:27 a.m. A man in the 6800 block of U.S. Highway 160 noticed his vehicle had been rummaged through. Several empty alcohol containers were found in the vehicle, and many items were missing. The things taken were a toddler hiking backpack, a handgun, a pair of boots, three shirts, two fishing tackle kits and a pair of glasses. The total value of the missing items is $1,845. A man on the road near the vehicle asked for a courtesy ride and an officer gave him a ride to Seventh Street Mobile Homes in Cortez, 600 S. Washington St. Later the officer was given the list of missing items and recognized the man he had given a courtesy ride to had the backpack in his possession. The officer then went to the Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St., where the man’s mother lives and found the backpack outside the home. The officer issued summons to the man on suspicion of criminal trespass and theft.

8:10 a.m. A woman hit another woman with a food tray. Both women are in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. The woman was issued summons on suspicion of assault.

12:56 p.m. A woman allegedly hit another woman in the head multiple times and knocked her to the ground. Both women were in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. The woman was issued summons on suspicion of assault.

Monday, June 5

9:32 a.m. A man turned himself over to the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on two warrants.

Wednesday, June 7

8:38 a.m. A man in the 400 block of Central Avenue in Dolores let his dog out without a leash. The dog approached a man in the street who was walking a dog and the man told the first man to get his dog. The first man stated he called his dog back but it did not return. The second man kicked the first mans dog. The first man confronted the second man and shoved him. Both men then went to Dolores Town Hall, 420 Central Ave., to report the incident.

12:33 p.m. A woman hit another woman in the head three times. Both women were in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. The woman was issued summons on suspicion of assault.

3:20 p.m. A man driving 66 mph in 40 mph zone was pulled over in the 14000 block of Road 25. The man was issued summons on suspicion of speeding.

Thursday, June 8

3:20 p.m. A woman completing court ordered paperwork at the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office, 730 E. Driscoll St., was arrested on a warrant.

Sunday, June 11

11:57 a.m. A man, who lost his wallet at the carnival the night before, noticed his debit card was used for a $70 purchase at Maverik in Cortez, 455 State St. The man canceled his credit and debit cards and requested no charges be pursued. The wallet contained a debit card, a credit card, $70 in cash, a hunters safety card and a drivers license.
