Wednesday, Feb. 15

8:47 p.m., A man was arrested on a warrant during a traffic stop in the 21000 block of County Road G and was cited with criminal impersonation and driving while under restraint.

Thursday, Feb. 16

5:52 p.m., A room at the Baymont hotel in Cortez, 2279 Hawkins St., was broken into. The room’s door had been kicked in, the air conditioner had been taken apart, and a TV had been torn from the wall.

Monday, Feb. 20

10:43 a.m. A man returning to his home in the 28000 block of U.S. Highway 491 found a backpack in his garage. The doors to his freezer and car were open, but nothing appeared to have been taken.

Tuesday, Feb. 21

4:06 p.m., A man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was cited with violating a protection order. The man had sent a birthday letter to his sister, from whom he was restrained.

Sunday, Feb. 26

5:02 a.m., A man trying to park his truck between two other trucks at the Towaoc Travel Center, 1 E. Mike Wash Road, ran his trailer into one of them.

Tuesday, Feb. 28

7:47 p.m., A man who slid off a roadway near the intersection of U.S. Highway 491 and County Road N was arrested on a warrant. While the man was being taken to the detention center, it was found the warrant had a date of birth different from the man’s. The man was released to his family in Cortez.

Wednesday, March 1

5:04 p.m., A man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., received an unsigned check from his grandmother. The man’s wife went to the detention center and signed the check. The grandmother could not be contacted to confirm she had approved the wife’s action.

10:44 p.m., A woman who was drinking at her home in the 28200 block of U.S. Highway 160 was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order and a bond order.

Thursday, March 2

3:46 p.m., A woman who was trying to open car doors in the 500 block of Railroad Avenue in Dolores was arrested on a warrant.

4:22 p.m., A man trying to but a gun at KP Pawn in Cortez, 24099 Road G. 2, was arrested on a warrant. The woman with the man was arrested on a warrant, and a second woman turned herself in at the detention center on a warrant related to the first woman.

Friday, March 3

12:51 p.m., A man trying to buy a gun at KP Pawn in Cortez, 24099 Road G. 2, was arrested on a warrant. The woman with the man was arrested on a warrant.

5:13 p.m., A man trying to buy a gun at KP Pawn in Cortez, 24099 Road G. 2, was arrested on a warrant. Because of the man’s health, a judge changed the no-bond warrant to a personal recognizance bond warrant.

Monday, March 6

12:49 p.m., An officer served two warrants to man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
