Thursday, Jan. 12

10:48 a.m., A man at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was remanded into custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Wednesday, Jan. 25

10:32 a.m., A man in the 20700 block of County Road S made a livestock death report so he could file an insurance claim. The man’s cow had been shot between 10 a.m. Jan. 22 and 10 a.m. Jan. 23.

Thursday, Jan. 26

6:19 p.m., A woman in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was playing cards when another woman started talking to her and a fight began. The fight lasted two minutes. When staff went to separate the women, another woman stood in the way. The two fighting women were cited with third-degree assault. The third woman was cited with obstructing an officer.

Friday, Jan. 27

3:05 p.m., A pop window on a woman’s computer told her the computer had been hacked and she should call Microsoft. She called the provided phone number, and a man persuaded her to download remote access software. She spoke to a man who claimed to be a bank employee and said $1,500 had been taken. An officer uninstalled the remote access software. After confirming the woman had no tax or bank information stored on her computer, he contacted Four Corners Community Bank, 77 W. Main St. The bank confirmed that the man did not work for them. The officer believes nothing was stolen.

Monday, Jan. 30

8:40 a.m., An officer performed an observation of a State Patrol officer making a DUI stop near the mile marker 43 on U.S. Highway 491. The officer gave a man a courtesy ride from the scene to Super 8, 505 E. Main St.

2:45 p.m., A man at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was remanded into custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., for a first-degree criminal trespass case.

5:51 p.m., An officer served two warrants to a man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Tuesday, Jan. 31

9:57 p.m., A tribal ranger in the lower 100 block of East Mike Wash Road ran a plate on an abandoned vehicle and found the plate did not belong to that vehicle. An officer collected the plate and left it on the owner’s porch.

2:24 p.m., A woman ordered two mobility scooters totaling $134.30 from a website that failed to deliver them. An officer determined the site known for being fraudulent.

2:33 p.m., A man at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was remanded into custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on a failure to comply warrant.

3:50 p.m., A man at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was remanded into custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

5:20 p.m., An officer served three warrants to a man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Wednesday, Feb. 1

10:16 a.m., An officer at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., questioned a man in custody of the jail about why he was agitated. The man stated he had been pinned as a snitch. The officer took the man from the booking area to his cell, and the man tried to get out. The man and the officer struggled until the officer knocked him to the ground and restrained him. The officer suffered a fractured finger. The man was cited with second-degree assault and attempt to escape.

11:51 a.m., A woman staying at friend’s place in the 12000 block of County Road M got into an argument with the friend and requested a courtesy ride to Cortez. She gave an officer two false names and arrested on a warrant.

Thursday, Feb. 2

11:47 a.m., An officer served a warrant to a man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Friday, Feb. 3

7:26 p.m., A man driving a truck pulling a flatbed trailer scraped the trailer against the passenger side of a semitrailer while turning into the parking lot of Ute Mountain Casino, 3 Weeminuche Drive. The man denied any involvement. The broken headlight from the semitrailer was found on the man’s trailer, and the damage on the trailer was consistent with the damage on the semi. The man was cited with careless driving.

Sunday, Feb. 5

10 a.m., A woman went to the 5200 block of Road 24.5 to pick up her nephew. An officer was called because the woman was screaming at her nephew’s wife. The woman was leaving the property but was slowed by the mud because her child uses a wheelchair. The officer told the woman to stop yelling and tried to help the child through the mud. The woman made a death threat and was arrested on suspicion of harassment.

10:54 p.m. A man at Vista Verde Village Mobile Home Park. 28260 U.S. Highway 160, stated that during an argument his sister was waving a knife and a spatula around, and he felt unsafe. The sister, her son, and others stated there was no knife. The man was given a courtesy ride to a shelter.

Monday, Feb. 6

4:11 p.m., A man at Dolores State Bank, 101 S. Sixth St., wrote out a check for $664.75 and attempted to cash it. The check belonged to a man who had died in 2008. The man left when he was denied and left the check behind. Three other bank branches had informed the bank manager that two men were attempting this scam.

3:41 p.m. A man turned himself in at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on a DUI warrant. The man asked for medication from his vehicle, and the medication was found to not belong to him. The man stated he received it from a rehabilitation clinic in Aurora. The medication was set aside to be destroyed.

8:21 p.m. A woman went to pick up her son from her cousin’s house in the 23100 block of Road G.5. The woman and her cousin got into an argument and a fight. Witnesses say the woman initiated the fight. No charges were requested.

Tuesday, Feb. 7

9 a.m., A man driving a truck and tractor trailer parked overnight in the Ute Mountain Travel Plaza, 1 E. Mike Wash Road., and noticed in the morning that the wind skirt had been damaged. An officer reviewed footage and saw the trailer had been damaged before entering the parking lot.

12:16 p.m., A man at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was remanded into custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
