Thursday, April 21

11:33 a.m. A man was pulled over on suspicion of drunken driving 8000 block of Road G. While a deputy waited for assistance, the man fled the traffic stop. The deputy issued a warrant for the man.

Friday, April 22

8:36 p.m. A man who reportedly brandished a knife at employees at Dollar Store, 23890 County Road G, fled the scene while deputies searched the store. A deputy pursued the man on foot and used his Taser multiple times without detaining him. The man was cuffed and searched with the help of another deputy and sergeant. The sergeant found a knife and fentanyl that appeared to be packaged for sale. The man was taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center, served outstanding warrants and cited for unlawful distribution, second-degree assault, menacing and resisting arrest.

Saturday, April 23

6:45 p.m. A woman reported a business at 24055 Road L.4, near Montezuma Valley Irrigation Co., was broken into. There were no leads.

Sunday, April 24

9:37 a.m. A man reported that his car was stolen from his residence 15000 block of Road G. There were no leads.

9:46 p.m. A woman who was pulled over on suspicion of drunken driving in the 2000 block of U.S. Highway 160 was arrested on warrants for driving under the influence, driving without insurance and violating lane usage. Later, at the Montezuma County Detention Center, a deputy cited her for violating a protection order, driving under the influence, speeding, reckless driving, failing to provide insurance and driving without a license.

Wednesday, April 27

4:17 a.m. A sergeant fired a rubber bullet at a bear that was attempting to get into a latched trash can in the 200 block of North Ninth Street in Dolores.

12:18 a.m. A man turned himself in on two warrants at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Thursday, April 28

4:02 a.m. A woman reported that her business was broken into at 17455 U.S. Highway 491. A deputy determined that the alarm sounded because of equipment failure.

Friday, April 29

6:30 p.m. A deputy served a warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Saturday, April 30

A man turned himself in on two warrants at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Monday, May 2

11:59 p.m. A father reported that his son came home belligerently drunk and was yelling in the 28300 block of Road K.2. Because the man was making an unreasonable amount of noise, deputies took him into custody. He was cited for disorderly conduct and was released to his cousin.

Tuesday, May 3

7:45 p.m. A man reported that someone removed the lock on headgates and reversed the water flow on his property in the 12600 block of County Road G. A deputy referred the case to agricultural deputies.

9:16 p.m. A deputy asked the owner of a dog he found to meet him at the Cortez Animal Shelter, 2791 East Main St. The deputy determined that the woman was drunk when she arrived. She was issued a summons for driving under the influence.
