9:36 a.m. A man overseeing a large pipe-laying project reported that a resident has complained about the project coming onto his property in the 42600 block of U.S. Highway 160. A deputy tried to contact the resident.

Wednesday, Dec. 8

9:02 p.m. A man was reported by his grandmother for lighting something on fire in his room in the 12700 block of County Road 22. The man apparently had an outstanding warrant but left the scene before deputies arrived.

Sunday, Dec. 12

6:16 p.m. An officer euthanized a dog after it was hit by car in the 2500 block of U.S. Highway 160.

Tuesday, Dec. 14

7:44 p.m. A deputy assisted and observed as a Cortez police officer took a man into custody for drunken driving in the 10200 block of U.S. Highway 491.

Wednesday, Dec. 15

11:55 a.m. A man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant at the Montezuma Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

2:17 p.m. A man reported fraudulent card charges amounting to $1,065 to the Dolores Sheriff’s Substation, 420 Central Ave.

Thursday, Dec. 16

10:46 a.m. A deputy picked up an abandoned bicycle in the 27800 block of U.S. Highway 160 and transported it to a secure lot for retrieval.

11:52 a.m. A man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for drunken driving at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

6:10 p.m. A man reported that he wanted out of his marriage in the 40100 block of Colorado Highway 184. A deputy told the man that this was a civil issue.

11:13 p.m. A driver eluded a deputy while the deputy attempted to pull the driver over for speeding in the 20000 block of Road G. The driver reportedly was driving recklessly, and the deputy was ordered to stop the pursuit.

Friday, Dec. 17

5:45 p.m. A man was taken into custody on three outstanding warrants at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

6:51 p.m. A woman reported that she wanted a restraining order for her spouse after they had a verbal argument in the 26200 block of Colorado Highway 145. A deputy did not find evidence of domestic violence and separated the couple.

8:43 p.m. A woman reported that five propane tanks were stolen from the Dollar General Store, 23800 Road G. There were no leads.

Sunday, Dec. 19

8:41 p.m. A couple was reportedly fighting in the 18300 block of Colorado Highway 145. The woman claimed that her boyfriend poured beer on her and grabbed her wrist, and the man and his father claimed that the woman punched the man in the face. The woman was issued a summons for domestic violence, and the man was issued a summons for harassment. Both were taken into custody.

Monday, Dec. 20

11:41 a.m. Two men were taken into custody on outstanding warrants at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Tuesday, Dec. 21

11:04 a.m. A man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

The Journal
