Tuesday, Nov. 9

3:24 p.m. A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center at 730 E. Driscoll St. to serve a woman a warrant for failure to appear. The woman was left in the custody of jail staff.

Thursday, Nov. 11

2:47 p.m. A deputy responded to the 20000 block of Road G after a woman reported that someone backed into her car and sped away on U.S. Highway 160. There was significant damage on the front of the woman’s car. The deputy had no leads.

5:53 p.m. A woman stopped in the middle of the road in the 700 block of Central Avenue. She was sleeping in the driver’s seat with the engine running. The woman failed roadside sobriety maneuvers and was taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center, and cited on suspicion of DUI and having an open alcoholic container in her vehicle.

Tuesday, Nov. 16

10:21 a.m. A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., for a remand from court. The man was taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center and left in the custody of jail staff.

Wednesday, Nov. 17

8:40 a.m. A deputy responded to a trespass call at a mobile home park in the 27000 block of County Road T. An email contained photos of homes in the park, and the initial sender claimed that the person who took the photos was not allowed in the park. The deputy verified that she was allowed in the park to take photos.

Thursday, Nov. 18

2:59 p.m. A deputy responded to a travel trailer fire in the 25000 block of Road F.2. The deputy found the trailer engulfed in flames and several things were exploding inside. A dog reportedly escaped from the trailer. The owner told the deputy the fire likely started from a furnace that ran off of lantern fluid. Cars, a bicycle and other miscellaneous items were damaged, and the estimated loss was $50,000.

Thursday, Nov. 18

8:08 a.m. A deputy responded to a report of fighting and property damage in the 17500 block of Road 27.7. A man said he and a neighbor had argued about politics, and he slammed the door in the neighbor’s face. The neighbor responded by kicking in the screen door. The man told the deputy he did not want to pursue charges.

3:12 p.m. A deputy responded to the 21000 block of Road S after a woman reported that an outlet in her sewing room had caught fire. The deputy sprayed fire extinguisher in the outlet and room. The fire department cleared the scene. The estimated loss was $1,000.

Saturday, Nov. 20

4:25 a.m. A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., after someone reported that an inmate broke his cell sprinkler. The inmate denied breaking the sprinkler. The estimated loss was $500. The inmate was issued a summons for criminal mischief.

Monday, Nov. 22

9:21 p.m. A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., to serve a warrant. The man was left in the custody of jail staff.

11:08 p.m. A deputy responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle in blocking a lane of traffic in the 21000 block of Road B. The deputy could not contact the owner, and the vehicle was towed.
