Monday, June 22

4:20 p.m. A Lewis woman reported that she was repeatedly punched in the face by an ex-boyfriend until knocked unconscious. She suffered three jaw fractures and two other head fractures. The suspect denied any wrongdoing. He was later arrested and charged with second-degree assault.

Friday, June 19

9:25 a.m. The Antique Corral on the 6000 block of U.S. 160 reported a male subject broke in and attempted to steal a safe. A roll of quarters was stolen from the cash register. The incident was captured on video surveillance.

Wednesday, July 22

12:30 p.m. A Domino’s Pizza delivery person turned in a bag of marijuana found outside the front door of the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office.

Thursday, July 23

5:44 p.m. Deputies responded to a residence on the 200 block of South 8th Street in Dolores for a report of stolen guns. In the middle of a divorce, a man said his wife stole three scoped rifles and a shotgun. The woman denied the allegations.

8:05 p.m. Deputies responded to a vehicle that rolled over on the 19000 block of County Road G. A man was arrested for DUI.

Friday, July 24

12 p.m. A Dolores man was warned for driving an off highway vehicle on Central Avenue.

12:30 p.m. A Cortez man reported that he lost his wallet.

4:30 p.m. A woman requested a police report for insurance purposes, claiming someone had attempted to burn down her home on the 2200 block of County Road G. The woman refused to cooperate with the investigation. The case was closed.

Saturday, July 25

11:12 a.m. A subject from the Majestic Dude Ranch reported an assault between two employees that ensured after one had “snitched” on the other over allegations of underage drinking. One man was arrested for third-degree assault after grabbing a co-worker around the neck and shaking him.

3:31 p.m. Waterlines were damaged by a semi-truck at the Rock Springs Church.

8:25 p.m. Deputies responded to a residence on the 24000 block of County Road M.3 for a disturbance. A man reported that his wife poured cayenne pepper into boots and an argument ensued. The woman admitted to hitting her husband in the head with a sewing machine. She was arrested.

Sunday, July 26

7:51 p.m. Deputies responded to the Lakeside Trailer Park in reference to a protection order violation. A man was arrested.

9:35 p.m. Deputies responded to Aramark’s employee dorms near Mesa Verde National Park in reference to shots being fired. Upon arrival, authorities were unable to locate the suspect. A woman opted not to press charges after learning the firearm was a pellet gun.

Monday, July 27

4:41 p.m. A Dolores woman reported a physical altercation occurred while she was washing a vehicle. A man was arrested for violating a protection order after a bucket of soapy water was poured on the woman.

11:53 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to a fight in progress on the 25000 block of County Road F.2. After drinking, two men started fighting after a racial comment was made. One man was elbowed in the face. Another man was arrested for violating a no alcohol court order.

Tuesday, July 28

5 p.m. A deputy saw a man driving into the Lakeside Trailer Park. Dispatch advised the man had an outstanding warrant from La Plata County. The deputy located the man inside a residence, and arrested him.

6:25 p.m. Deputies responded to the 15000 block of Hwy. 145 in reference to a theft incident. The reporting party said a lock had been removed from a storage unit and several boxes of tools valued at $250 were missing.

Wednesday, July 29

1:22 a.m. A Colorado man was ticketed for driving with a suspended license on the 6000 block of U.S. 160 after he failed to dim his high beams.
