Thursday, Jan. 2

1:11 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to the 27200 block of County Road H. He filed a report about a stolen Ford van.

Sunday, Jan. 23

9:04 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to the 200 block of South Fifth Avenue in Dolores about a report of a suspicious person. The deputy determined the man had permission to take assorted 12-volt wiring from an apartment. However, he was wanted on an active warrant. The man was arrested and left in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Wednesday, Jan. 29

6:10 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., to issue a female inmate with three active warrants. She was also charged on suspicion of introducing contraband and was placed on a felony hold.

7:06 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., to issue an active warrant to a male inmate.

11:07 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to Montezuma County Combined Court, 865 North Park St., to remand a woman into custody. She was left in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

5:44 p.m. An officer was dispatched to the 20600 block of County Road W about a report of a found passport. The officer took a report about a passport out of Mexico that was found on the side of the road. The passport was turned over to the Colorado State Patrol.

9:26 p.m. An officer was dispatched to the 17600 block of County Road 27 to issue an active warrant to a man. The man was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

11:39 p.m. A deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Linden Street in Cortez after a vehicle almost collided with the deputy’s patrol vehicle. The driver had an active warrant. He was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.

Saturday, Feb 1

8:51 p.m. A deputy was traveling east in the 35000 block of U.S. Highway 160 when he stopped to assist a Mancos marshal with a traffic stop. A search of the vehicle discovered two Mason jars filled with marijuana, a digital scale and several capped syringes. A man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and left in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Monday, Feb. 3

7:40 a.m. A deputy walking to the Dolores school campus, 1301 Central Ave., in Dolores was approached by a juvenile who handed a knife to the deputy, stating he did not want to get into trouble. The juvenile said he found the knife near the middle school playground. The deputy entered the knife as evidence.
