Wednesday, Sept. 30

4:02 p.m. Theft of wood was reported at a business in the 31400 block of County Road S. The suspect claimed that he thought it was free if he loaded it himself. He paid for the wood, and no charges were filed.

Saturday, Oct. 10

8:57 a.m. Possible animal cruelty was reported in the 18100 block of County Road 22. A Black Angus cow was found dead. The owner believed it might have been shot and said two other cows had died in the past three weeks. There were no witnesses or suspects.

Friday, Oct. 16

12:47 p.m. Theft of mail was reported in the 38300 block of County Road G. A key fob was missing despite the tracking ID showing it had been delivered. The victim said others in the area had packages missing as well.

5:02 p.m. A restraining order violation was reported in the 21000 block of County Road C.7. A man was messaging his children’s mother, who had a restraining order against him. The man was warned not to contact her again until questions about the restraining order were investigated.

Tuesday, Oct. 20

10:36 a.m. A man was arrested on an active warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

10:53 a.m. A woman was arrested on an active warrant for failure to comply at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

Wednesday, Oct. 21

8:37 a.m. A man was arrested on an active warrant for failure to appear and flight to avoid prosecution at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

Thursday, Oct. 22

10:04 a.m. Theft was reported at Montezuma County Airport, 22870 County Road F. A propane tank and battery assembly were missing from a Bureau of Land Management RV being stored there. There were no suspects.

2:50 p.m. A woman was remanded into custody on a felony possession of a controlled substance charge at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

Friday, Oct. 23

2:34 p.m. Human remains were found in the 9700 block of County Road 22.7. The remains appeared to be ancestral when examined by the coroner’s office. The remains were reburied.

Saturday, Oct. 24

3:25 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of violation of a burn ban in the 19000 block of County Road S. He was burning weeds on his property.

Monday, Oct. 26

8:35 a.m. A man turned himself in on an outstanding arrest warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

4:43 p.m. Two female inmates involved in a physical altercation were cited on suspicion of third degree assault at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. The altercation was capture on security footage.

Tuesday, Oct. 27

4:17 p.m. A man was cited for driving with a suspended license in the 8000 block of County Road 27.
