5:10 p.m.: A man was served with a warrant for failure to comply at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Friday, June 1

12:04 p.m.: A man was remanded into custody from Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

12:18 p.m.: A woman was arrested on two warrants at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

10:22 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of shoplifting at Maverick Gas Station, 10223 U.S. Highway 491. A store employee and two witnesses reported a juvenile ran out of the store holding two 12-packs of beer, valued at $12.49 each, and drove away in a pickup. No security video footage was available, and deputies were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

Saturday, June 2

2:04 a.m.: A woman was cited on suspicion of DUI and careless driving outside Angel’s End Zone, 309 N. Broadway, after she reportedly drove over the center median on the highway.

2:30 p.m.: A woman was arrested at Mountain Village Inn, 701 Railroad Ave., on a La Plata County warrant for failure to appear after deputies responded to a report that she was intoxicated and refusing to leave. She was medically cleared due to intoxication.

3:30 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of motorized vehicles in a nonmotorized zone in the 26000 block of County Road X. Two men had reportedly driven motor vehicles – a pickup and an ATV – to the edge of McPhee Reservoir in order to go fishing. Deputies gave them a verbal warning.

6:15 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 28000 block of County Road K.2 on a Durango Police Department warrant for failure to appear on an aggravated motor vehicle theft charge. Because his criminal history included several violent crimes and a gang affiliation, several deputies and a K9 surrounded his house before knocking on his door to serve the warrant. He reportedly tried to leave through the back door, but when he saw deputies waiting for him there, he surrendered without incident.

Sunday, June 3

5:18 a.m.: Deputies assisted Colorado State Patrol troopers in investigating a crash that occurred about 10 p.m. the previous day on Forest Service Road 527. One juvenile passenger reported her boyfriend had lost control while driving her and several other juveniles, and had struck a tree. Some of the juveniles were being treated for injuries at Southwest Memorial Hospital. The boyfriend reportedly showed signs of alcohol and marijuana intoxication. Deputies found the crash scene and the damaged vehicle, confirmed that one passenger who hadn’t gone to the hospital was not injured and turned the investigation over to State Patrol.

7:05 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and violating bond conditions in the 18000 block of County Road 30 after deputies responded to a report that he had driven his car into the Dolores River. He reportedly told deputies he “always drove through the river.” He was medically cleared due to intoxication, and a towing service was called to pull his vehicle out of the water.

Monday, June 4

2:13 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle near the intersection of County Road 30 and Colorado Highway 184. They called a towing service to remove it.

9 p.m.: A deputy killed an injured deer in the 26000 block of Colorado Highway 184.

Tuesday, June 5

3:17 a.m.: A man was cited on suspicion of violating a bear-proof dumpster ordinance in the 18000 block of Colorado Highway 145 after deputies responded to a report that a bear had knocked over his unlatched trash container.
