Deputies confiscated an AR-15 rifle loaded with an 18-round magazine and an additional round in the chamber, and a Smith and Wesson revolver loaded with five rounds, after they found the weapons in the man’s bedroom. During the booking process at the jail, the man reportedly shouted that he was “the prophet of God” and that the sheriff’s laws were “from the devil.”

10:52 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 600 block of West Menefee Street, Mancos, on suspicion of violating a protection order after deputies responded to a report of a disturbance in the area. The man reportedly refused to step out of his house when deputies arrived, and another man attempted to block deputies from entering. One deputy reportedly pushed the other man to the ground and entered the house, pushing the suspect down onto a couch. A woman in the house reportedly rushed at the deputy, and his partner pushed her away. When the deputies brought the suspect outside to arrest him, the woman reportedly ran after them and tried to grab one deputy’s arm, leading him to point his stun gun at her to warn her away. On the way to the jail, one of the deputies received another call, so he tried to transfer the suspect to another patrol car, but the suspect reportedly refused to get in.
