Tuesday, Jan. 30

4:53 p.m.: A woman was arrested at the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office, 730 E. Driscoll St., on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence after a deputy reportedly saw her shove her boyfriend in the parking lot.

Wednesday, Jan. 31

2:27 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle in the 800 block of U.S. Highway 160. A vehicle had been parked on the side of the road for about a week and had apparently been damaged by someone trying to pry its door open during that time. The vehicle was towed to the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office impound lot.

6:09 p.m.: A woman was stopped in the 2000 block of U.S. Highway 160 after a deputy reportedly noticed she was driving well under the posted speed limit and impeding traffic. The woman’s vehicle also reportedly had expired tags and a license plate belonging to a different vehicle. The woman reportedly told the deputy she was on her way to have the vehicle repossessed, and that she had no insurance. The deputy turned over the investigation to an agent from the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Thursday, Feb. 1

1:39 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 24000 block of County Road F.5 on suspicion of violating a protection order after a man asked that her boyfriend be trespassed from his house. The man reported the boyfriend had damaged a door while he and the woman were staying in his house. During the investigation, deputies found that there was a protection order prohibiting the woman and her boyfriend from contact with each other. Her boyfriend left the house at the deputies’ orders, and the man who reported the incident did not press charges for property damage.
