San Juan County, N.M., holds largest drive-thru shot clinic in state

700 people receive COVID-19 vaccine

FARMINGTON – San Juan County held the largest drive-thru COVID-19 shot clinic in New Mexico so far on Saturday at McGee Park.

Presbyterian Medical Services put on the clinic and staff members administered vaccines with help from the New Mexico National Guard, according to a news release from county spokesman Devin Neeley.

In addition to the San Juan County Office of Emergency Management and the National Guard, the New Mexico State Police, Red Cross, San Juan County staff members, local emergency planning committee and members of the San Juan County Fire Department were volunteers for the clinic.

“We want to say thank you to all the folks who made it happen and thank you to all the 700 people who came – with plenty of patience – to get a shot,” Neeley said.

There will be more opportunities in the future, but before arrival, patients must sign up to receive the shot at vaccinenm.org.

Clinic locations, times and serving capacity is dependent on available doses from the state.
