Registration is required before arrival
The San Juan College Health and Human Performance Center gym will serve as a point-of-distribution site for COVID-vaccinations.

FARMINGTON – San Juan College announced Tuesday that its Health and Human Performance Center gym will be a distribution site for the COVID-19 vaccine through March for those who register beforehand with the state.

“With the importance of distributing vaccinations in our community, San Juan College is pleased to collaborate with New Mexico Department of Health, the New Mexico National Guard and many local volunteers to serve as a vaccination site,” said Jon Betz, director of the Health and Human Performance Center at SJC, in an email to The Durango Herald. “Our gym area provides adequate spacing for social distancing and to safely administer the COVID vaccinations.”

A news release included updated information about gym hours of operation, classes and parking. The gym track will close at 1 p.m. every Tuesday and remain closed through Thursday. Classes for group exercise will be moved from one classroom to another, and the gym’s parking lot will be closed from 6 a.m. to noon Wednesdays and Thursdays through the vaccine period.

Vaccines will be administered from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays through March.

Those who want to get the COVID-19 vaccine can register online at cvvaccine.nmhealth.org to make a reservation.
