The Farmington Police Department is looking for a 37-year-old man suspected of stealing a minivan full of toys last week from the Salvation Army.

Police say that at 7:21 p.m. Tuesdayan employee reported the charity’s white 2011 Toyota Sienna stolen. The Salvation Army employee was shopping at Walmart on East Main Street for children enrolled in the “Angle Tree,” program.

Anthony Crespin, 37, was reportedly helping the employee and other volunteers shop and load the vehicle with toys. Before the employee and other volunteers were finished purchasing the toys, they said Crespin drove off in the vehicle.

The Salvation Army values the amount of toys and gifts inside the van at about $6,000.

An arrest warrant was issued Saturday accusing Crespin of unlawfully taking of a motor vehicle.

The Farmington Police Department said Crespin is known to frequent the Farmington and Bernalillo areas of New Mexico. The department asks anyone with information on the whereabouts of Crespin or the incident to call their local police department.
