The Re-1 Montezuma-Cortez school board is seeking applicants to fill a board vacancy for District A. The board will be accepting letters of interest for that position until March 11. They will review letters and conduct interviews on March 15.

Qualified candidates must be a registered voter for the past 12 months, a U.S. citizen, be at least 18 years old, and be a resident of District A., which is an area south of Main Street. In addition, any person who has been convicted of, pled guilty or nolo contendere to, or received a deferred judgment or sentence for commission of a sexual offense against a child is ineligible for election to a school district board of education.
