Wednesday, Nov. 29

4:54 a.m.: A man turned himself in to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

10:26 a.m.: A man was issued a summons at City Market, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of shoplifting. Store employees claimed he had tried to steal an 18-pack of beer, valued at $22.99.

11:39 a.m.: A man was arrested near the Piñon Project, 210 E. Main St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge and on suspicion of violating bond conditions and violating a protection order.

12:37 p.m.: A man was arrested in Centennial park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave., on a La Plata County warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge and on suspicion of violating bond conditions. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital before being taken to jail, due to severe intoxication.

1:40 p.m.: A man was served with a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Thursday, Nov. 30

11:02 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 200 block of East Third Street on a warrant for failure to appear on an assault charge.

3:03 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 500 block of East Montezuma Avenue on a San Juan County warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge. She was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication.

7:15 p.m.: A man was arrested at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., on a La Plata County warrant for failure to appear and on suspicion of unlawful possession of a Schedule 2 controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of firearms with controlled substances and theft. Store employees claimed the man had stolen a pair of gloves and a concealment holster, valued at $34.93 total. When police asked if they could search the man’s vehicle for the gloves, the man reportedly refused, saying he had a gun in his truck. Officers reportedly searched the truck after they saw a meth pipe in plain view in the ashtray. A small bag of meth, a pistol, a revolver and the missing gloves were all found in the vehicle. The holster was found in the man’s pocket.

Friday, Dec. 1

12:32 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 1400 block of North Mildred Road on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

Saturday, Dec. 2

9:31 a.m.: Police responded to a report of property damage in the 200 block of East Seventh Street. A couple reported that they had seen a woman break a window on their house, causing about $80 in damage. Responding officers were unable to immediately locate the woman, but requested a warrant for her arrest on charges of destroying private property.

10:43 a.m.: A man was arrested at Mesa Verde Inn, 640 S. Broadway, on suspicion of indecent exposure and disturbing the peace after witnesses reported he was sitting naked outside his motel room, in view of at least one juvenile. Witnesses reportedly said it was not the first time he had done this.

10:43 a.m.: A man was served with a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

5:39 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 100 block of North Adams Street on suspicion of disorderly conduct after witnesses reported he was yelling and trying to fight with them. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication.

6:52 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 400 block of East Arbecam Avenue on suspicion of third-degree assault, harassment, reckless endangerment and domestic violence after her ex-boyfriend claimed she had punched him several times while trying to force her way into his residence. The man’s mother also claimed the woman had thrown a knife at her when she told her to leave the property. The suspect was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication.

10:59 p.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 400 block of East Main Street on suspicion of driving an uninsured vehicle, driving without a license, driving with a missing headlight and displaying expired license plates.

Sunday, Dec. 3

5:52 p.m.: A man turned himself in to the Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St., and was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

10:56 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 800 block of East Main Street on suspicion of being intoxicated in a roadway after his girlfriend reported he had headbutted her in the nose. When police contacted the man, he reportedly denied hitting his girlfriend but said he had stopped a car in the middle of Main Street “because he didn’t want to live.” He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication and cuts on his knuckles. Due to his and his girlfriend’s conflicting stories, police did not pursue assault charges.

Monday, Dec. 4

3:07 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 700 block of North Edith Street on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, driving under restraint and operating a vehicle with an illegal window tint. Four acetaminophen and hydrocodone pills were found in his pockets, and seven more hydrocodone pills were found scattered throughout his vehicle.

Tuesday, Dec. 5

11:24 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 600 block of East Montezuma Avenue on suspicion of driving with a revoked license as a habitual traffic offender and speeding in a school zone.

2:39 p.m.: A woman was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

3:28 p.m.: A woman was arrested at the Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.
