Friday, July 29

7:52 a.m.: A female inmate at the Montezuma County jail, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served two warrants.

4:14 p.m.: A report of two reckless vehicles at Linden St. and Montezuma Ave. led to multiple charges after officers discovered that a husband and wife had been involved in a domestic dispute that resulted in a crash involving their vehicles. The female driver of one vehicle was arrested on suspicion of DUI, second-degree assault, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, child abuse, domestic violence, failing to provide child restraints in her vehicle, and an open container of alcohol. The woman’s husband, who had driven away, was being sought on suspicion of reckless driving, second-degree assault, child abuse, domestic violence, reckless endangerment, driving a vehicle with a suspended license. The woman was treated for a sprained ankle after her husband allegedly ran over it while driving away. The woman’s passenger – her brother – was cited for disturbing the peace. The couple’s daughter and her sister’s two children, who had been in the woman’s vehicle, suffered minor injuries. They were left in the custody of their grandmother.

10:47 p.m.: A woman was cited for trespassing at Seventh Street Mobile Home Park, 600 S. Washington St., based on a 2013 no-trespass order.

Saturday, July 30

12:26 a.m.: A man was at First and S. Harrison streets on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, failing to signal a turn, weaving, and driving an uninsured vehicle. He was released to a his sister.

1:14 a.m.: A woman was cited for criminal mischief after breaking a man’s phone at Angel’s End Zone, in the 300 block of N. Broadway.

10:47 p.m.: A male driver was ticketed for driving without insurance, running a stop sign and displaying fictitious license plates. A passenger, who fled the scene, was found, then arrested for possessing a controlled drug, obstructing government operations and resisting arrest.

Sunday, July 31

11:47 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault, domestic violence and false imprisonment after biting a woman and attempting to keep her from leaving a residence in the 700 block of E. Second St.

7:34 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant near the Cortez Skate Park, 425 N. Roger Smith Ave.

11:11 p.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant after a report of a disturbance in the 1500 block of Montelores Ave. A man was admitted to Southwest Memorial Hospital for a medical evaluation.

Monday, Aug. 1

7:03 a.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant at the Montezuma County jail.

7:29 a.m.: A woman reported that her purse had been stolen from her vehicle parked in the 400 block of W. Third St.

10:45 a.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant at Montezuma County Court.

3:33 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant while working at Destination Grill, in the 2100 block of E. Main St.

10:38 a.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant at Montezuma County Court, 610 N. Mildred St.

Tuesday, Aug. 2

5:19 p.m.: A man was cited for possessing alcohol and an open container in Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave.

6:26 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug and of walking intoxicated in a roadway in the 200 block of N. Park St.

7:21 p.m.: A man who had his pants down in Cortez City Park, 802 E. Main St., was cited for possessing alcohol and an open container.

7:47 p.m.: A woman was arrested on a La Plata County warrant at City Market, 508 E. Main St., and cited for shoplifting $25 in food.

8:25 p.m.: A man who had been cited an hour earlier for possessing alcohol in Cortez City Park was arrested for disturbing the peace after he urinated in the Dolores State Bank parking lot.

Wednesday, Aug. 3

1:13 a.m.: A male inmate was served a warrant at the Montezuma County jail, 730 E. Driscoll St.

8:07 a.m.: A man was served a warrant at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road.

8:50 a.m.: A man reported that someone had flattened two tires and scratched the word “bitch” on a door and had scratched both sides of one car and had cut the valve stems off four tires of a second car parked in the 400 block of Kansas St. The officer advised him to obtain an estimate of repairs.

10:36 a.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant in the parking lot of Liquid Assets, in the 700 block of E. Main St.

9:14 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant in City Market, 500 E. Main St., and cited with possession of drug paraphernalia.
