Thursday, May 9

7:19 a.m. An officer arrested a woman on suspicion of two counts of second-degree assault after she allegedly attacked emergency room staff at Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Rd.

9:31 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant in the area of the Cortez Fire Station 1, 31 N. Washington St.

12:48 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating two protection orders at the Happy Valley Trailer Park, 203 E. Seventh St.

5:37 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, reckless driving, open alcohol container and open marijuana container at Shiloh Steakhouse, 5 S. Veach St. The man’s vehicle hit four vehicles in various locations off E. Main Street, went airborne twice in two parking lots, proceeded through Shiloh Steakhouse parking lot, hit a sign, almost ran over a couple and finally stopped after colliding with a brick retaining wall.

2:57 p.m. A wheelchair-bound man was arrested for trespassing at the Piñon Project, 210 E. Main St.

4:58 p.m. An officer took a report for damaged property at 925 Livesay Drive. A man was cited with damage to private property for kicking a door in after his mom locked him out and flipped him off.

Friday, May 10

10 a.m. An officer took a report for graffiti at City Hall, 123 N. Roger Smith Ave.

1:56 p.m. An officer took a report for a missing Handicap placker at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

3:51 p.m. An officer took a report for fraud against the elderly at the Cortez Apartments, 620 E. Empire St. The officer recommended the case to adult protection services as the woman appeared to be delusional and that somebody be awarded control of the elderly woman’s finances immediately to prevent further fraud.

Saturday, May 11

6:48 a.m. A man was arrested on two warrants at 207 S. Park St.

8:53 a.m. A woman was cited with possession of alcohol in the park and trespassing at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St.

3:57 p.m. A man attempting to flee the scene of an accident was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a peace officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, theft, careless driving caused bodily injury, and owner-operated uninsured motor vehicle at 4X4 Auto Sales, 1551 S. Broadway.

8:03 p.m. A woman was arrested on a warrant at 10 W. Seventh St.

9:40 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at Safeway, 1580 E. Main St.

Sunday, May 12

2:11 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of careless driving, DUI, and DUI per se, in the 2300 block of Trinity Ave.

Monday, May 13

1:19 p.m. An officer served a warrant to a man in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

2:49 p.m. An officer took a report for a stolen Husqvarna 450 chain saw with an 18-inch bar in the 1100 block of E. Empire St.

4:56 p.m. A man was cited with second-degree burglary and theft at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. The woman he was with was cited with third-degree criminal trespass.

8:52 p.m. An officer responding to an unfounded assault report arrested a man on a warrant at the Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St.

Tuesday, May 14

2:51 p.m. An officer took a report for a hit-and-run at the city of Cortez Golf Course, 2018 N. Dolores Road.

4:14 p.m. A woman in a single-car accident was cited with careless driving at Mesa Verde Motor Sports, 2120 S. Broadway.

7:25 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant and cited with criminal mischief for breaking a window at Seventh Street Mobile Homes, 600 S. Washington St.

10:19 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant and trespassed from the National 9 Inn, 301 W. Main St.

Wednesday, May 15

12:19 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating a restraining order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol after a report was made for an unwanted person that was sleeping at the northern entrance of City Market, 508 E. Main St.

10:08 a.m. A woman was arrested on a felony warrant during her court appearance at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.
